Dear Lord Jesus and Mary, Mother of God, hold all these brave souls in the palm
of your hand; comfort them and their families. Send angels of protection, love,
and comfort to all the service men and women still at war, bring them home safely
and comfort their families. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

On behalf of the parish family of St. Perpetua, we

Right to Life-LIFESPAN
New Life
Many will consider the days in which we are living
to be rather dark. It is hard to be separated from our
usual activities and our friends and families. But,
take a moment and look outside at the trees. Do you
see all those bud? New life is being brought forth
even as we struggle. Soon we will all be able to share
in the abundance of this new life and give thanks
Alhambra is the only charitable Catholic organization here
at St. Perpetua that is co-ed. We meet on the 2nd Thurs-
day of the month right after the 7 p.m. Mass. All are wel-
come to join us. As a group, we do all that we talk about
in our mission statement above and have fun doing it.
If you are Catholic, over 18 years of age, take a look at us.
Check out our information table in the Church hall, drop
in during one of our meetings held on the 2nd Thursday
of the month, following the 7p.m. Mass, or feel free to
contact Ted Gozdzialski at 248-318-6120.
The schedules for all Lectors, Commenta-
tors, Ushers, Eucharistic Ministers and Altar
Servers will soon be published for July, Au-
gust & September 2020 If you know that
you will not be available to serve on a specific week-
end during this time frame, please call the parish of-
fice (248) 682-6431 by Friday, June 5th, and advise
us not to schedule you.

Take Five for Faith
Identify escape routes
During stressful times and increased family together-
ness, such as global "stay-at-home" orders, domestic
abuse increases. Special hotlines and secret havens are
set up to assist victims, and abusers are encouraged to
seek help as well. Saint Rita of Cascia, whose feast we
celebrate today, was mentally and physically abused by
her husband for years. In the Middle Ages, she had little
recourse. She chose to respond with kindness, patience,
and humility. Her virtues did little to change her hus-
band’s behavior, but she did her best to escape her
situation, at least spiritually. With the many resources
available today, be aware of the signs of abuse and en-
courage loved ones to seek both physical and spiritual
refuge.

Any Catholic woman who is 16 or older can join. We are
women from all walks of life - professionals, full-time
moms, retirees, the young and the young at heart. We all
belong for our own personal reasons: Meetings are held
the first Wednesday of every month (except July & Au-
gust) at 7:00 p.m. in the carpeted meeting room. We cur-
rently have approximately 35 members and are looking to
expand our membership.
Here is a prayer that was received from a very close friend
of Fr Jack. We need to pray daily to be in union with Fr
Jack because he prays this prayer daily and it gives him
great consolation.
Oh My God, you have created me
to do some definite service.
You have committed some work to me that You
have not committed to another.
I have my mission, I am a link in a chain,
a bond of connection between persons.
I will trust You, whatever, wherever I am.
If I am in sickness, my sickness will serve You.
If I am in perplexity, my perplexity may serve You.
If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve You.
You do nothing in vain. You know what you are about.
Though friends be taken away, though I feel desolate,
though my spirits sink,
though my future is hidden from me,
yet I will trust You, for You know what You are about.
I ask not so much to see as to be used:
through Christ our Lord, Amen
