A new generation of electric vehicles exists that is able to put in the field performances that are on a par with and in certain contests superior to the conventional diesel or petrol vehicles of the same category. It is the case of the ATX E series, professional electrical vehicles designed to be used in the hardest and most demanding conditions, with loading capa-city up to 1.000Kg and towing capacity up to 3.000Kg.

Most ATX models are EU type-approved for road circulation. They are professional vehicles designed for people that are not happy with what can already be found on the market and where quality, reliability and fun-ctional design are the fruit of years of experience and tests in the field. Design, prototyping and production of all Alkè vehicles are made entirely in Italy.

Alkè electrical vehicles combine silence and zero pollution to a real working capacity. It is not by chance that a growing number of sec-tors are starting conversion procedures of almost their entire fleet of vehicles to high performance electric vehicles such as the ATX E:

tourist sector: holiday villages, cam-ping sites, golf courses, parks, touri-sm-cultural sites, farm-holiday centres, riding schools residences and hotels, beaches, amusement parks, seaside resorts, sports centres, stadiums, ski resorts.

services and industrial sector: fair fa-cilities, congress centres, commercial centres, catering services, industrial establishments, shipyards, harbour and airport facilities.

public sector: municipalities, historic town centres, public safety, civil pro-tection departments, railway stations, airports, hospitals, universities, com-munities, cemeteries, waste collection services, ecological and environmen-tal services, postal services and fire department

private sector and open spaces: esta-tes on the plains or hillside, parks and villas, maintenance of open spaces, farms, vineyards, woods, nursery gar-dening, floriculture and greenhouses

ATX: high performance electric vehicles

ATX vehicles are available also in special versions for use in areas with risk of explosion such as oil plants, offshore extraction platforms, tunnels, chemical plants, mines, etc (ATEX compliance with category 3G, 2G, M2).

Unique savings with the ATX electrics

The results of a recent comparative study between ATX electrics and equivalent models diesel and petrol are amazing. This study was based on a temporal period of 4 years (4,000 hours of work). By comparing the main costs the benefits are undoubtedly in favour of the electric versions that can provide up to:

• 70% less in costs for maintenance• 80% less in costs for consumptions• 10.000 € of total saving for a period of 4 years

If the activities in which the vehicles are involved necessitate frequent stops these values are greater because in these conditions the traditional diesel and petrol vehicles are affected by a rapid wear of the ignition-clutch-transmission group with additional costs of maintenance on the long term.

Standard full-optional fittings and an extremely solid construction All ATX chassis are treated with Cataphoresis anticorrosion process and built using tubular steel sections dimensioned to support any type of exertion and torsion.The front bodywork of the vehicle, the control panel and coverings and the back of the cab are built in reinforced fibreglass and finished with car paint (fibreglass is flexible, resistant to blows and can be easily repaired in the case of accidents).

The ATX have AC motors with very high torque and smooth distribution, which prevents skidding and loss of grip also on high risk land-types (sand, snow or ice) and guarantee start-up in ascent with hesitation.

Thanks to their special motors and CURTIS controllers, the ATX E raise the power, if necessary, by 8 kW nominal to a peak of 14 kW to allow operations even in the presence of uneven land and 35% slopes.

The autonomy on standard routes for some models can reach up to 130 Km and covers without problems an entire working day even where frequent stops are required for load and unload operations.The electric ATXs have an energy recovery motor brake system, which in the stopping phase prevents all waste of power and wear of the brakes.

The ATXs may have maintenance-free pure lead batteries to raise the performances of the vehicle even at low temperatures (-20° C).

The complete re-charge of the battery set, normally carried out during the night, takes place using the high frequency battery-charger present on the machine, this means it can be connected anywhere there is a common mains socket without being restrained to fixed bases.

The special battery chargers used by the ATX E guarantee a greater number of charges with respect to the technologies commonly used (greater number of charges = longer life of the battery set = saving of management costs). It is not necessary to wait for the battery to be totally flat before re-charging it, the so-called “memory effect” present in other lower sectors is not found here.

The investment for an ATX E is re-paid in average terms by the maintenance costs, which are must lower if compared with equivalent diesel and petrol vehicles: maintenance is almost inexistent and there are noteworthy savings in fuel consumption. For an entire day’s work the cost for the complete charging of the battery sets is less than 1.5 euro.

It is important to know that the technical life, in working hours, of an elec-trical vehicle of this type is generally double, if not triple, with respect to a conventional fuel vehicle.

The ATX110E are very compact electric vehicles, 50 cm shorter than ATX210E, that’s why they are indicated for usage in places where tight turning radiuses are required (turning radius of only 2.6 metres).This model has same performance like ATX210E and is used where space is very narrow and there is the necessity of a strong vehicle. It is designed for heavy duty usage inside industrial plants, tourist and sport centres and hospitals.

ATX110E

The ATX210E is the more sold version and offer larger loading capacity than the ATX110E (180x124cm instead of 130x124cm). As an alternative to the traditional Lead-Acid batteries, this model can mount also pure-lead maintenance free batteries that allow better performance during cold winters. The quick-change battery system can be installed as an option to allow the use of secondary batteries to double the vehicle range. As the ATX110E also the ATX210E is designed for use in industrial plants, tourist and sport centres and hospitals and finds its best work environment in municipalities, universities and colleges, waste collection, delivery services or other activities operating in restricted traffic zones, railway stations and airports where bigger loading volumes are important if not essential.

ATX210E

The ATX240E represents the top of the electrical ATX range and is addressed at special uses. On the outside it has the same size of the ATX210E but with a much more high load capacity on the back floor (1,000 Kg instead of 600 Kg), a higher tow capacity (3,000 Kg instead of 2,000 Kg) and a higher autonomy of the battery pack (up to 130 Km). Differently from the 110E and 210E versions it has full floating rear axle (removable semi-axis) and 24x2V high performance cells with quick-change system provided as standard (with an auxiliary battery pack the ATX240E can be used for double/multiple shifts).Designed for use in industrial and civil areas (airports, railway stations, logistics centres) it is realised with the latest technical solutions, which derive directly from the forklift sector.

ATX240E

The new ATX range released in 2013 provides important upgrades on several specifications. Each previous model has been replaced by a new one, in particular we have:

ATX100E now replaced by ATX110EATX200E now replaced by ATX210E ATX280E now replaced by ATX240E

Type approval: ATX110E and ATX210E have EU type approval as heavy quadricycle (L7e category). New vehicles with compatible configuration (except at the moment ATX240E) will be delivered with proper EU COC for registration at local level inside the EU.

Electronics and battery: New 8kW (14kW max) AC motors are installed joint to new CURTIS controllers and for ATX110E/210E new tubolar-plate lead acid EXIDE batteries (1.000 cycles expected life instead of 700 cycles from previous model used on ATX100E/200E). Even if nominal capacity 8.7kWh seems lower than the 9.6kWh previously mounted the performance are at least the same or even better due to the different tubolar-plate technology adopted. Exteriors: The general look of the vehicle is not so different from the previous version, main changes relates the rear lights now installed directly on the chassis with an independent rear bumper. The tow hitch it is now standard for all vehicles, type approved for road circulation and directly connected to the main chassis. The cargo bed and the cargo bulkhead has been redesigned, aluminium side panels are now same type used on XT vehicles. The cargo bed colour for the lower platform it is now for all vehicles grey, the vehicle colour will refer now only to the cab body.

Interiors: Three point belts are now standard on all vehicles. New seats with driver presence microswitch are installed. The analogic display has a new design. The CURTIS display with CAN-bus technology is present on the dashboard to provide indication about speed, battery charge, motor temperature, inverter temperature, inverter errors. The handbrake has a longer lever to provide less difficult operations.

Road Homologation L7e (European homologation as heavy quadricycle) -

Type AC electric motor AC motors allow greater performance, they are extremely quiet and require less maintenance than DC motors.

Power in standard conditions 8 kW / 48 V Available power and torque are really for professional and intensive use.
