WHAT IS MALE PATTERN BALDNESS • Male pattern baldness, also called androgenic alopecia, is

the most common type of hair loss in men. 

• More than 50 percent of all men over the age of 50 will be affected by male pattern baldness to some extent.

• Men typically present with progressive hair loss at the temples and vertex balding

CAUSES OF BALDNESS• One cause of male pattern baldness is genetics, or having a family

history of baldness

• Each hair on Male’s head has a growth cycle, this growth cycle begins to weaken and the hair follicle shrinks, as a result no new hair grows in its place

• sometimes baldness has more serious causes, such as certain cancers, medications, thyroid conditions, and anabolic steroids

• Health conditions may be a cause of baldness when a rash, redness, pain, peeling of the scalp, hair breakage, patchy hair loss

SYMPTOMS OF BALDNESS

• The male pattern baldness begins at the hairline, the hairline gradually moves backward (recedes) and forms an "M" shape

• Eventually the hair becomes finer, shorter, and thinner, and creates a U-shaped (or horseshoe) pattern of hair around the sides of the head

• Thinning hair on top of the scalp and the gradual appearance of a bald spot, a developing widow’s peak, or diffuse-spread hair loss over the entire scalp

• A good diet also helps in maintenance of one’s hair, in fact it forms the main basis of hair loss or growth

• Eat walnuts, tuna, sprouts, flaxseeds, salmon, kale and Brussels sprouts
