•Only –ir verbs have a stem change in the preterite•It only occurs in the él, ella, Usted (Ud.), and ellos, ellas, ustedes (Uds.) forms.•The rest of the forms follow the regular –er/-ir preterite forms

Notice that the letter I is a weak vowel! That plays a part in the need for accents on the next conjugation.

Verbs with o u change:morirse (reflexive) = to die (can be figuratively speaking)
