Organized by 'The Embassy Series", the magical Sitar performance of Ms. Laila coupled with Tabla by Monir Hossain enthralled more than 100 spectators including Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Mr. Md. Shahidul Haque and Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States and State Minister Mr. Akramul Qader. In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Qader elaborated on the rich heritage of Bangladeshi musicians in using multiple musical instruments including Sitar and its ever expanding appeal to the western world. He lauded Ms. Laila's talent and efforts to transcend Bangladesh's cultural opulence to the world. The show also included performance by a young performer from Bangladeshi community Mr. Raiyan Rahman who sang a BangIa patriotic song. After that, in her one hour long performance, Ms. Laila spellbound the audience with her instrumental classical music that was composed in harmony with the nature and culture of the vibrant Bangladesh. The sitar performance was followed by a dinner where the audience enjoyed authentic Bangladeshi cuisine. Bangladesh Embassy hosts Musical Evening by Sitarist Alif Laila

A musical evening titled, "A Melodic Portrait of Bangladesh" by highly acclaimed

Bangladeshi Sitarist Alif Laila was held at the Bangabandhu Auditorium of the Embassy today.

Organized by 'The Embassy Series", the magical Sitar performance of Ms. Laila coupled with
