WHAT IT IS?

from Granada to Istanbul It is a cultural project, produced by Culture Caravan collection that promotes and supports al-Andalus Foundation Culture, this is the first workof the artist Hamza Castro, blower Ney (reed flute Turkish). In this project, the author makes an inner journey from Granada to Istanbul, inspired by the culture of al-Andalus and Sufi mystic poets. It is a work from the heart and the heart, a unique work that has been orchestrated with piano, cello, violin, percussion, oud, qanun, etc.. The challenge is to walk from Granada to the whole world in a cultural trip, a journey through the memories of al-Andalus, and impart to people the magic of Ney, his musical identity and its spiritual value and sensitizer. A dynamic project of thought, culture, life, art and history. The Cdrom-book contains songs combined with beautiful poetry and Sufi mysticism significant illustrations and idiosyncrasies of al-Andalus. Well as clips from several of the songs.

from Granada to Istanbul The poems are mystical Sufi poet like Rumi, Sanai and Arabi. And contemporary poets as Chema Cotarelo, Emilio Ballesteros, Emilio Alzueta, Paco Vaquero and Pedro Enriquez. Putting voice in recitations: Luis Otero, David Zaafra and Pedro Enriquez.

from Granada to Istanbul Illustrations are artists from around the world, the works were selected by competition, it has helped artists from art schools in many countries and independent artists. Other illustrations are ancient Sufi artists.

Video clips, designs and layout of this cultural product has been produced by the creative Antonio Vera.

It is not only a book with a cdrom in the involved musicians, artists and illustrators. “One of the most beautiful ways to express love is through music”

Hamza Castro, born in Granada and ground of this project is a self-taught musician Ney (Turkish reed flute), essential in Sufi music. Hamza teacher was the best musicians as Abdelouahed Senhaji Ney, Dr. Oruç Guvenc, Ahmed and Omar Faruk Tekbilek Sahin, which provide a deep transmission of Ney. He was fascinated, not only by the instrument, also but what they represent spiritually . Hamza Castro has managed to create with this magical tool, a unique style, fusing different musical styles: Arab, flamenco, classical and others. It has created a 90-minute show for this work, which is a staging musicians, flamenco dancer and a dervish. This swow have created a visual collection and scripting of the content at this time will not occur courts and the work is itself a whole of emotions, feelings, spirituality, and a journey “from Granada to Istanbul."
