Value of utilized production was $78.4 million, down 14 percent from 2013. In Washington, sweet cherry utilized production totaled 252,000 tons in 2014, up 75 percent from the previous year. Value of utilized production was $509 million, up 34 percent from 2013. Pears Pear utilized production in Oregon is estimated at 215,000 tons for 2014, up 4 percent from 2013. Bartlett pear utilized production is estimated at 57,000 tons while utilized production of other pears totaled 158,000 tons. In Washington, pear utilized production totaled 393,000 tons in 2014, down 9 percent from the previous year. Bartlett pear utilized production is estimated at 160,000 tons while utilized production of other pears totaled 233,000 tons. In Oregon and Washington, a crop with excellent quality has been reported throughout the growing region. Excellent growing conditions this summer enabled the pears to size well. Harvest began in late-July and finished in mid-October. Grapes Grape utilized production in Oregon was 58,000 tons in 2014, up 18 percent from 2013. In Washington, grape utilized production totaled 515,000 tons, up 31 percent from 2013. Utilized production of wine grapes is estimated at 230,000 tons, while juice grape utilized production totaled 285,000 tons. Washington’s 2014 grape crop shattered the previous record high production of 415,000 tons set in 2005. Blueberries In Oregon, utilized production of blueberries totaled 86.1 million pounds in 2014, down 4 percent from the previous year. Value of utilized production was $107 million dollars, up 13 percent from 2013. Washington utilized blueberry production was 96.1 million pounds in 2014, up 18 percent from 2013. Value of utilized production was $121 million, up 68 percent from the previous year.

Washington Apple and Grape Crops Set Record Highs in 2014

Apples

Utilized production of apples in Idaho is estimated at 64.0 million pounds for 2014, down 9 percent from the previous year.

Oregon apple utilized production totaled 140 million pounds in 2014, up 2 percent from the previous year. In Washington, apple

utilized production is estimated at a record 7.30 billion pounds in 2014, up 24 percent from the previous year. Washington apple

growers reported that warm spring weather and the growth in the number of high density orchards has resulted in this year’s

record harvest.

Sweet Cherries

Idaho sweet cherry utilized production is estimated at 2,800 tons for 2014, up 27 percent from the previous year. Value of

utilized production was $6.40 million dollars, up 14 percent from 2013. Oregon sweet cherry utilized production totaled 53,700

tons in 2014, up 17 percent from the previous year. Value of utilized production was $78.4 million, down 14 percent from 2013.

In Washington, sweet cherry utilized production totaled 252,000 tons in 2014, up 75 percent from the previous year. Value of

utilized production was $509 million, up 34 percent from 2013.

Pears

Pear utilized production in Oregon is estimated at 215,000 tons for 2014, up 4 percent from 2013. Bartlett pear utilized

production is estimated at 57,000 tons while utilized production of other pears totaled 158,000 tons. In Washington, pear

utilized production totaled 393,000 tons in 2014, down 9 percent from the previous year. Bartlett pear utilized production is

estimated at 160,000 tons while utilized production of other pears totaled 233,000 tons. In Oregon and Washington, a crop with

excellent quality has been reported throughout the growing region. Excellent growing conditions this summer enabled the pears

to size well. Harvest began in late-July and finished in mid-October.

Grapes

Grape utilized production in Oregon was 58,000 tons in 2014, up 18 percent from 2013. In Washington, grape utilized

production totaled 515,000 tons, up 31 percent from 2013. Utilized production of wine grapes is estimated at 230,000 tons,

while juice grape utilized production totaled 285,000 tons. Washington’s 2014 grape crop shattered the previous record high

production of 415,000 tons set in 2005.

Blueberries

In Oregon, utilized production of blueberries totaled 86.1 million pounds in 2014, down 4 percent from the previous year.

Value of utilized production was $107 million dollars, up 13 percent from 2013. Washington utilized blueberry production was

96.1 million pounds in 2014, up 18 percent from 2013. Value of utilized production was $121 million, up 68 percent from the

previous year.
