Lee Chief of Police Robert Harvey Deputy Chief Media Release Update Reference Officer Involved Shooting The Smyrna Police Department is releasing the identity of the Officer involved in the shooting of Nicholas Thomas, 23, that took place on March 24, 2015 at Goodyear Tire (2475 Cumberland Parkway, Atlanta, Ga. 30339). Sergeant Kenneth Owens has been with the Smyrna Police Department since September 2001 and is currently serving as the Sergeant over the Street Crimes Unit. The two other Smyrna Police Officers that were assisting in the warrant service that day are identified as Officer Chris Graeff and Officer Mark Cole. This incident is still under investigation with the Cobb County Police Department as well as the Smyrna Police Department internal affairs division. (Sergeant Kenneth Owens) ##

Update Reference Officer Involved Shooting

The Smyrna Police Department is releasing the identity of the Officer involved in the shooting of Nicholas Thomas, 23, that took place on March 24, 2015 at Goodyear Tire (2475 Cumberland Parkway, Atlanta, Ga. 30339). Sergeant Kenneth Owens has been with the Smyrna Police Department since September 2001 and is currently serving as the Sergeant over the Street Crimes Unit.
