AEON CREDIT SERVICE STAFF HEAD TO KAMPONG BHARU FOR A GOTONG-ROYONG

Kuala Lumpur, 6 November, 2016 – Approximately 350 people comprising staff of AEON

Credit Service (M) Berhad and local residents cleaned the streets of Kampong Bharu with its

“Gotong-Royong @ Kampong Bharu”; a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project. This

event was launched by YBhg. Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz; Mayor of Kuala

Lumpur.

In conjunction with its 20th Anniversary celebration, the Management has lined up several

activities to mark its presence in Malaysia. YBhg. Dato’ Abdullah Mohd Yusof; Chairman of

AEON Credit in his opening remarks said “AEON Credit is committed to supporting and

enhancing the wellbeing of the community it serves”. He also described his pleasure on the

overwhelming number of staff who volunteered their time to be a part of this CSR, especially on

a weekend.

YBhg. Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz; Mayor of Kuala Lumpur in his officiating

speech commented that he was pleased that AEON Credit chose Kampong Bharu, one of the

oldest residential areas in Kuala Lumpur to carry out its corporate social responsibility project.

He noted the cooperation fostered between DBKL staff, representatives from the local

community and AEON Credit was commendable as fostering relationships between

organizations to achieve a common goal; to increase awareness on environmental protection

amongst its staff and the public in general.

As part of AEON Credit’s commitment to supporting and enhancing the well-being of the

community it serves, there was a cheque presentation and a contribution of wheel chairs to

Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas Kampong Bharu. The contribution of RM5,000.00 was

received by En Salim bin Napiah; the principle of the school. Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan

Khas Kampong Bharu is a school with students who are hearing impaired and from the lower

income bracket.

Also, present at the gotong-royong was YBhg. Datuk Affendi Zahari; Chairman of Perbadanan

Pembangunan Kampong Bharu, YBhg. Datuk Hj. Mahadi Che Ngah; Chief Executive Officer of

Perbadanan Pembangunan Kampong Bharu and Mr Kenji Fujita; Managing Director of AEON

Credit.
