(Name of park here) will be hosting a trash pick up on September 6th at (enter time and specific location at the park here) to honor 9-11 victims with a time of service. The 9-11 Call to Service is an effort to bring Americans together through volunteering. Recognized by Congress in 2009, the initiative hopes to unite 1 million Americans through service in honor of the 9- 11 tragedy. Since Iowa ranked second highest for volunteering, "we anticipate a great turn-out in support of our state parks" said Linda King, DNR Volunteer Coordinator In previous years after long holiday weekends, high levels of trash have been left behind at state parks. "We decided to choose the park clean up as an easy way for Iowan's of all ages to help us at our parks and to honor 9-11 victims" stated King.
