What We Do & Where We Go

PS LIGHTWAVE offers colocation and access to The Cloud in downtown Houston and provides carrier-grade Ethernet Circuits, Internet, Dark Fiber and VoIP in the Greater Houston Metropolitan area.

The Network

Services are delivered over a private, 5,500 route-mile optical network connecting 1,400 on-net locations and 80% of Houston’s data centers. PS LIGHTWAVE’s switched Layer 2 infrastructure is backed by 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) support and connects 50+ fault-tolerant multi-gigabit Ethernet rings designed for built-in redundancy, security, high-availability, and sub 2ms latency.

The network footprint spans five counties and reaches distant locations such as Bay-town, Freeport, Magnolia, Richmond, Rosenberg, Splendora, Texas City and Willis, Texas.

About Our CEONative Houstonian and University of Houston Magna Cum Laude graduate Rhonda Cook began her telecommunications career early. In 1979, she joined Phonoscope Enterprises Group as one of four staff members, creating an environment of innovation and efficiency while building the cable television division, which was sold in 1997. That same year, she was promoted to the rank of president at Phonoscope Enterprises Group, serving in that capacity for the next 23 years.

In 2010, she founded her own Houston-headquartered Competitive Local Exchange Carrier, PS LIGHTWAVE, which at 5,500 route miles, represents one of the largest private, facilities-based managed area networks (MANs) in Texas. PS LIGHTWAVE is a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB), an HCDE Choice Partner, a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBENC) and a GSA IT Schedule 70 Contract Holder.

Serving as a female CEO in a historically male-dominated field, Rhonda has been recognized for her leadership and dedication through her induction into the 2014-2015 VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She has been an active member of the Vistage group of business owners since 2013. In 2015, PS LIGHTWAVE was awarded the honor of Houston Chronicle’s Top 100 Workplaces 2015 and 2016.

PS LIGHTWAVE ANNOUNCES COLOCATION DEPLOYMENT THROUGH THE EQUINIX HOUSTON METRO INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS EXCHANGE™ (IBX®)

PS LIGHTWAVE today announced that the company will be offering connectivity and network services to customers in the Equinix Houston Metro HO1 IBX®. Deploying at Equinix enables PS LIGHTWAVE to meet growing demand for connectivity, data center services, colocation, cloud services and disaster recovery. This will enable PS LIGHTWAVE’s extensive fiber-optic network footprint in Houston to provide connectivity services to connect to colocation deployment and power density requirements for current business operations.
