/� CORPORATE� BACKGROUNDER
OVERVIEW� —� The� Bradley� Beal� Family� foundation� is� a� charitable� organization� based� in� Washington� DC,� and� whose� goal� is� to� impact� on� the� entire� DC� area.� The� foundation’s� main� purpose� is� to� foster� children�
and� their� families� to� play� sports� together� and� to� support� them� practicing� healthy� activities� as� a� family.� To�
do� so,� Beal’s� foundation� funds� the� renovation� of� disadvantaged� areas� sports� facilities,� helps� finance�
sports� equipment,� and� funds� the� creation� of� family� tournaments� on� the� week-end.
TheThe� foundation� is� the� result� of� basketball� player� Bradley� Beal’s� commitment.� The� Wizards� guard’s� goal�
was� to� give� back� to� the� DC� community� through� a� charitable� organization.� He� also� wanted� to� get� involved�
in� cause� that� mattered� to� him,� and� take� advantage� of� his� growing� reputation� to� highlight� an� issue� close�
to� his� heart.�
FOUNDATION’S� PURPOSE� —� Beal� always� had� strong� family� values� growing� up.� Sport� has� always� been� a� strong� link� between� him� and� the� rest� of� his� family.� The� Beal� family� is� composed� of� athletes,�
mainly� football� players,� former� basketball� and� volleyball� player.� Bradley’s� mother� was� his� personal� coach�
for� more� than� 10� years.� This� background� history� has� played� a� major� part� of� Beal’s� commitment� to� help�
families� practicing� sports� together.�

Finance� sports� equipment� for� DC� public� schools� –sports� shoes,� jerseys,� basket� balls,� bat,� foot-ball� equipment…�

Renovate� sports� facilities—basketball� courts,� baseball� and� football� fields,� gymnasiums� and� tracks� —from� the� south� east� neighborhood� of� DC.

Organize� numerous� family� tournaments� on� the� weekend� on� public� playgrounds,� supervised� by� professionals.�
/� BRADLEY� BEAL� BIOGRAPHYThe� Rookies� In� DC
Bradley� Beal� is� the� son� of� Bobby� and� Besta� Beal.� His� father�
played� football� for� Kentucky� State� University� and� her� mother�
basketball.� He� has� 4� brothers:� his� two� older� brothers� played�
football:� Brandon� was� tight� end� at� Northern� Illinois� and�
Bruce� offensive� lineman� at� Alabama� State� University� —� who�
moved� in� D.C.� to� help� him� to� get� acclimated� to� the� life� of� an�
NBA� player.� His� two� younger� brothers� play� also� football� at�
hishis� former� high� school.� He� concentrated� on� basketball� be-
cause� of� his� height.�
His� mother� quickly� became� his� personal� shooting� coach� —�
she� did� a� pretty� good� job,� since� his� shoot� was� often� compa-
red� to� Ray� Allen's.� His� mother� used� to� watch� her� son's�
games� in� slow� motion� to� find� flaws� in� his� footwork� or� shoo-
ting� mechanics.� She� used� to� drive� him� to� the� local� YMCA�
basketball� and� he� had� to� try� scoring� against� his� two� older�
brothers.

After� his� collegiate� career,� Bradley� ente-
red� the� draft� frenzy.�
When� he� was� 12,� he� impersonated�
David� Stern� —� He� was� selected� by� the�
Washington� Wizards� since� Wizards� Pre-
sident� Ernie� Grunfeld� thought� that� Beal�
would� be� the� “perfect� sharp-shooting�
complement� to� Wall”.�
Beal� was� truly� willing� to� join� the� Wi-
zards� since� he� asked� Randy� Wittman� —�
the� Wizards� Coach� —� to� guarantee� they�
would� select� him

After� studying� communication� in� Paris� La� Sorbonne,� Pierre� Lon-geray� moved� to� the� US� to� focus� on� sports� communication� at� only� 24.�
After� a� brief� career� in� Public� Relations,� where� he� worked� for� a� PR� communication� office� specialized� in� athletes� PR,� he� decided� to� commit� himself� to� charitable� actions.�
He� is� now� at� the� head� of� communication� of� the� Bradley� Beal� Family� Foundation.

ARIANEGATEAUAriane� Gateau� has� always� been� involved� in� the� charity� world.� After� studies� specialized� in� communication� and� media� in� University� of� North� Carolina,� Ariane� joined� the� Mi-chael� Jordan� Foundation� in� the� press� rela-tion� department.�
5� years� later,� she� joined� the� Bradley� Beal� Family� Foundation� as� the� Chief� executive� Officer.

Bryce� Harper� is� an� outfilder� for� the� Washington� Nationals.� Number� 1� overall� pick,� Harper� was� named� NL� Rookie� of� the� Year� in� 2012� and� MLB� National� League� All� Star� after� the� best� regular� season� made� by� a� teenager� in� 45� years.� HarperHarper� is� a� true� basketball� lover:� he� played� last� year� with� retired� Suns’� player� Dan� Ma-jerle� for� a� charity� and� has� a� pretty� good� looking� shoot.�
On� the� path� of� a� lengendary� season� along� his� successful� teammates� such� as� Stephen� Strasburg� and� Gio� Gonzalez,� Harper’s� Na-tionals� are� on� their� way� to� make� DC� proud.

NickNick� has� long� story� with� DC,� since� his� dad-Leroy-played� for� the� Washington� Diplomats� in� the� 1970s.Last� year,� he� scored� 6� goals� in� 32� appearan-ces.�
