Three individuals recently received the much-coveted The President’sDesign Awards by Singapore’s President Tony Tan Keng Yam. Theaward is given to Singaporean or PR whose architecture designs areoutstanding as judged by a powerful panel of 14 members whose namesare known globally.
Among these 3 winners, Mr Siew Man Kok who co-founded MKPLArchitects had been in the limelight recently for 2 high-profile projects.
One of the two is the much talked about Bidadari Estate Master Plan thatwas launched in 2012. This area’s natural lush landscape is fused into theHousing Board estate which will see residents dwelling in the midst ofBidadari’s heritage and large greenery. Spanning 93ha, this estate willbe a class of it own, with the natural topographical features breathingdaily freshness into the residents’ daily lives! Fancy waking up to birds’chirping, scent of morning dew, day in day out!
Mr Siew’s eye for details in incorporating Singapore’s tropical beautyinto his architecture designs succinctly sums up the DNA of his firm!
