President’s Page

Greetings in the name of our Christ.

Friends, we are excited about the new level and opportuni-

ties the Lord has brought Southern Bible Institute & Col-

lege into. Achieving candidacy status has positioned us to

have an even greater impact not only as a college, but on

the church and the community.

We are so appreciative of past and present support, but

we’ve reached a plateau where we want to challenge our

supporters to become more than donors, but rather to be

investors in the great work at Southern Bible. As you re-

view this information, please prayerfully consider how you

can become a stronger stakeholder and vital partner in this

kingdom work.

Servant of Christ,

Invested in Accreditation

INVESTMENT VALUE:

An accredited institution of higher education holds high value in

having demonstrated that their administration, faculty,

academics, finances, and the institution as a whole, have met and/

or exceeding the standards of quality education. Through faithful

investments in Southern Bible, our college has reached the status

of “Candidate” (pre-accreditation) through the process of peer-

review evaluations. The next stage is Initial (Full) Accreditation.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT:

At this candidacy stage, reputable accredited institutions—such as

Dallas Theological Seminary—are recognizing the quality of an

SBIC degree and are affording its graduates the benefits of it.

Additionally, SBIC is now eligible to receive Federal (Title IV)

funding once the application process is complete.

INVESTMENT VALUE:

A sound and affordable college

education should be within the

reach of all who desires one—

including those who value a

biblical higher education. SBIC

Scholarship & Endowment

funds make this value possible

for current and future students.

The Daniel Scholars program,

for example, provides younger

students (18 to 25; male and

female) a stronger foundation

for their college career through

special mentoring & work

experience during their first 63

credit hours .

RETURN ON INVESTMENT:

Your investment in SBIC will help

maintain tuition affordability

thus resulting in more Christian

leaders with college level-

education with a biblical

worldview. The return on this

investment will also result in a

larger group of young believers

continuing their post-secondary

education (having transferable

credit course work and/or

degree and a sound biblical

foundation) while engaged and

competently serving in their

church, community, and career.

Invest in Church

Advancement

INVESTMENT VALUE:

Southern Bible continues to be

of great value to the Christian

church in providing competent

servant leaders at every level of

ministry including: Pastoral

Ministry Leadership, Bible

Exposition, Biblical Counseling,

Worship Ministry Leadership,

Women’s Ministry Leadership,

Digital Ministry and Community

Engagement. Value is added

even further as we expand

programs which will focus

specifically on Church Planting

& Revitalization and localized

Deacons & Elders training.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT:

An investment in Southern Bible

provides dividends in the way of

better equipped leadership for

the local church—which in

return produces more effective

ministry and stronger disciples

of Jesus Christ. Additionally,

church leaders will have earned

college credits for simply grow-

ing in their calling and being

sharpened in their kingdom

work.

Invest in Community

Betterment

INVESTMENT VALUE:

Southern Bible Institute &

College not only has a high

valuation for developing strong

church leadership, but also in

equipping servant leaders to

be agents of change for com-

munities. The development of

our Centre for Servant

Leadership gives students co-

curricular and hands-on field

education and practical experi-

ence in serving local communi-

ties.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT:

Investing in SBIC will allow

qualified persons from

community organizations—such

as the Union Gospel Mission—to

be trained to serve as chaplains

and ‘field ministers’ to the

homeless population. Financial

support for this value will also

allow students in the Community

Engagement program to “exegete

communities” thereby connect-

ing resources (physical &

spiritual) that meet the unique

needs of the neighborhood.

Invested Alumni

INVESTMENT VALUE:

There is always added value

when alumni are supportive

and engaged, especially in

institutions with a history as

long as Southern Bible’s.

Our alumni are a steady

example of the far reaching

and deep impact that a SBIC

education has on church and

community service, as well as

continuing educational

pursuits. Additionally, the

alumni as a group is a great

way to pool financial

resources and support efforts

that provide a strong revenue

source for the institution.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT:

Alumni—who continue to be

engaged in SBIC—gain a special

influence on the college’s culture

and community, along with close

contact and unique access to

opportunities and benefits

afforded especially to alumni.

This group is also well positioned

to provide a type of guardianship

of the legacy and cultural pride

of Southern Bible.

Invest in the Campus

INVESTMENT VALUE:

The aesthetic of any campus weighs heavily on the impressions

made about the college as a whole. A beautified campus and well

functioning facilities heightens the intrinsic value of the education

provided. Modern equipment and technology for teaching and

operations increases the efficiency and quality of the classroom

experience and the college overall.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT:

The result of investments in campus upkeep and improvement, is

an attractive and comfortable learning environment for both

students and the community. There is also the advantage of SBIC

being in-step with other 21st century higher education campuses

giving our students, faculty, and community a since of pride and

confidence that the quality of the college is not only evident in the

curriculum but in the campus as well.

ABSOLUTELY! Here’s the plan...

In February of 2019,

Southern Bible Institute & College

was granted Candidacy Status (pre-

accreditation) by the Association of Biblical

Higher Education (ABHE) and is now preparing for

Initial Accreditation consideration as early as 2023. This plan

reflects this important pivot and demonstrates SBIC’s ability

to operate at a new level.

The Bridge Funding ensures 3 years of stability and allows

the institution to focus on growth rather than survival.

Traditional Income Streams are normative institutional revenue

sources which will be cultivated during this transitional

period. The 3 Year Capital Goals indicate areas where

accumulated funding will be allocated to provide a solid

funding base into and beyond initial accreditation.
