NOTICE OF VACANCY IN OFFICE OF DIRECTOR FOR DIVISION 4

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:

That a vacancy exists in the office of Director for Division 4 of the Orange County Water District. The remaining members of the Board of Directors of the Orange County Water District intend to consider applications and to make an appointment to fill said vacancy at a Board of Directors meeting to be held no later than September 28, 2018, at the office of the District located at 18700 Ward Street, Fountain Valley, California. Interviews with selected applicants could occur the second or third week of September. If the Board of Directors makes an appointment to fill the vacancy in the office of Director of Division 4, the appointed Director would serve for the remainder of the unexpired term of the office, until December 2020.

The Board of Directors requests that interested applicants submit a letter of interest and/or resume by 5:00p.m. on August 24, 2018, to the fol lowing address:

To be eligible for appointment as the Director of Division 4, a person shall be a resident of, and a registered voter in Division 4 of the Orange County Water District. Division 4 (map attached) generally includes the cities of Los Alamitos and Seal Beach, and parts of the cities of Buena Park, Cypress, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster. Questions concerning eligibility to serve as the Director of Division 4 should be directed to the County of Orange Registration and Elections Department at 714-567-7600.

A public officer, whether elected or appointed , may be elected or appointed to serve as a member of the board of directors of the District. However, a local municipal charter provision or ordinance may restrict a councilmember or city officer from serving in another elective capacity; persons who currently serve as councilmembers or other city officers and are interested in appointment as Director of Division 4 of the Orange County Water District should review their city charter and municipal code and confer with their city attorney
