Our guide, Pam Gaston, took us on all three levels of the hospital and then over to talk to the Accounting Department. Jack Daniel’s Distillery Tour By Matt Millwood
The Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee boasts not only the leader in whisky production, but also significant
cultural history for the South. The tour of the facility covered the entire line of production
from making the charcoal all the way to bottling the whiskey. The amount of history given along the tour was also abundant with
the story behind the placement of the distillery at the mouth of a natural fresh
water spring. The tour ended with a thorough presentation by their accounting department to learn about their financial
challenges due to how heavily their production gets taxed.
The tour was arranged in a joint effort between the Athens State University IMA Student Chapter and the Muscle Shoals Chapter of the IMA.
