Rover's Mission Searching for treasures, new and rediscovered,

for theatre "off the beaten path."

Rover Dramawerks produces lost or forgotten works of well-known authors, revives excellent scripts that have suffered from lack of exposure,

and discovers unknown gems of the stage.

Who's Who Gary Anderson is excited to be joining such a wonderful cast in such a delightfully enjoyable show. Gary last appeared on the Rover stage four years ago as Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days. Other Rover credits include Shakespeare in Hollywood (Jack Warner) and The Runner Stumbles (Toby Felker). Favorite roles elsewhere include Death of a Salesman (Willy Loman), A Few Good Men (Lt. Col. Jessep), Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick), The Merry Wives of Windsor (Falstaff) and A Christmas Carol (Scrooge). In "real" life, Gary works as a digital graphic artist at The Richards Group in Dallas, and he spends as much free time as possible in the great outdoors. “Thanks to my wife Karin and my daughters Lindsey and Sarah who make my theatre habit possible.” Glenn Averoigne is a Theatre Performance major at UT Arlington. The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker is his second production with Rover; in fact you can see him Fridays at 10:30 in their late night production of DOCTOR U. He would like to thank his parents, John Barrowman, and Robert Downey Jr. He would also like to thank Maddie and Jeny for teaching him the fine art of door painting. Cai Mason Carothers is making his professional debut with Rover Dramawerks. He has previously played Tiny Tim in Little Elm High School's A Christmas Carol. Cai is also a yellow belt in Taikwondo, a Tiger Cub, and an artist and scientist. Sri Chilukuri is thrilled to be making his debut with Rover Dramawerks! He is a graduate student at Texas A&M Commerce majoring in Theatre. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. His previous roles include Ambrose Kemper in The Matchmaker, Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps, and Carthage Kilbride in By the Bog of Cats, and Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Apart from being on stage, Sri likes hanging out with his friends, playing sports, watching movies and trying different kinds of food. He wants to thank his director for the opportunity and guidance. He wants to thank his cast and crew for showing up and working hard day in and day out. Special thanks to his friends and family for all their love and support! Kimberly “Kacy” Corbett is happy to return to Rover. Previously, she designed the sets for Everything in the Garden and Murder at the Orient Burlesque. She also enjoys working as production manager, technical director, stage manager, and technician. Kacy is a project theatre consultant for Schuler Shook, designing performing arts centers around the country, including the recently opened Dallas City Performance Hall. She is a MFA graduate of the Yale School of Drama and is an active member of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT), American Society of Theatre Consultants (ASTC), and the PLASA Technical Standards Program. Kacy thanks her husband Michael for all his support.

About Tonight’s Play

The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker is a forgotten gem by Liam O’Brien. Horace Pennypacker, Jr. is a very progressive though quiet freethinker and an easy-going father of a large family in Wilmington in the late 1800s. He also spends half of his time at his branch office in Philadelphia...with his second family, never dreaming the twain should meet. But they do. The minister, whose son is to marry Pennypacker’s daughter, is speechless. His wife hysterically refuses to believe it. His children are merely curious about his other children. Can a solution to his two-family system be reached? With all the talk today about what constitutes a family, this rollicking social comedy is even more relevant now than when it was first presented in the late 1950s. “An uproarious show.” - NY Times.

Emily Crow is 14 years old and will be an incoming freshman at Garland High School. She has been in many other plays including Annie, The Outsiders, and Robin Hood. She would like to thank Carol and Lindsey for helping her through this wonderful experience, and her parents and voice teacher for supporting her and always believing in her no matter what she does. Yvonne Vautier-DeLay (Diction/Dialect Coach) holds two certificates in Elocution from the Royal College of Music and was trained in elocution by a Royal Academy of Dramatic Art graduate. She has appeared on stage in England and the U.S. This is her 20th local production, ranging from Shakespeare to Woody Allen, as well as three summer programs of elocution for children. Theatre organizations she has worked with include McKinney Repertory Theatre, Pocket Sandwich Theatre, Rover Dramawerks and Theatre Britain. In addition, Yvonne does private tutoring and audition preparation, with special emphasis on vocal projection and precision in various English dialects. Elizabeth Drake is 13 years old and an 8th grader at Lakewood Presbyterian School. She has previously performed at Dallas Theater Center in Joseph...Dreamcoat, Dallas Children’s Theater in Madeline’s Christmas and Pinkalicious, Casa Manana in Alice in Wonderland, Jr. and Seussical, Jr., and Dallas Summer Musicals in the Nat’l Broadway Tour of The Wizard of Oz. Elizabeth has taken dance for 11 years and is currently studying at Dallas Ballet Center. She is represented by Page Parkes Management. Elizabeth is honored to be in her first production at Rover Dramawerks and working with Ms. Carol and this wonderful cast! Born to parents who had Theatre coursing through their veins, it was inevitable that at least one of 5 children would end up craving the stage. Julie Fackrell began acting, under her mother’s direction, at a young age; appearing in many shows including Our Town, The Music Man, Annie and You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. After several years away from the theatre to care for her two beautiful children, Jacob and Emma, Julie is very excited to be performing again and has been seen in recent shows including Allen's Community Theatre’s Girl Talk and The Core Theatre's Variations on the Theatre of Life. Julie would like to give special, heartfelt thanks to Carol Rice for giving her this amazing opportunity. “This experience has changed me forever in the best possible ways.” Shanna Gobin is excited to be working with Rover on this show, especially since it's set in one of the most gorgeous periods of fashion history ever! (Please don't call it Victorian where she can hear you.) Shanna has a degree in Theatre from the University of Texas at El Paso. Her previous design work includes hair and makeup for Written in Time, Of Mice and Men, A Christmas Carol, and the M Play we're not supposed to talk about, and costumes for Eurydice, The Girls in 509, Stop Kiss, and Doubt. Shanna would like to send a giant “thank you” to her mother, Darwina Gobin, for coming from Amarillo to help sew. Doug Grace has been involved with amateur theater for a number of years including roles in Our Town, Annie Get Your Gun, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Sound of Music, 1776, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and has played the cop in Annie more often than he cares to count. So his role of Sheriff is a promotion and he looks forward to growing in the role. “Thanks go to the directors, cast, crew and family for your support and encouragement.” Lindsey Humphries is thrilled to be stage managing this show. Previously at Rover, she has designed props for Wonder of The World and costumes for Love in E Flat. Lindsey also recently directed the Rover Late Night show, The Best Murders of One Day Only. She'd like to thank Carol for the chance to work with her on this show and the cast for being awesome.

More Who's Who Victoria Irvine holds her M.A. in Drama from Texas Woman’s University, with an emphasis on Theatre for Youth. Actively involved in theatre either onstage or off, for over twenty years now, she has worked in various theatres throughout the Metroplex as an actor, director, designer, stage manager and whatever else is needed. Miss Irvine is proud to be an adjunct faculty member in the Drama department at Richland Community College, where she currently teaches a Makeup for the Stage course. She also teaches for Rover Dramawerks and Drama Kids International. She is currently working on obtaining her teacher certification in theatre and English. Victoria is thrilled to be involved in this remarkable show with this remarkably talented group of people! Catherine M. Luster is currently a theatre arts teacher at South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Texas. Although she has designed for One Day Only events before, this is her first mainstage production for Rover Dramawerks. Recent local credits include All Aboard for Broadway and Death Takes a Holiday for Garland Civic Theatre, and getting married to her brand new husband! Nathan May began acting at the age of three with Dallas Children’s Theater. One of his most memorable roles was when he played Jem Finch in Garland Civic Theatre’s 2011 production of To Kill a Mockingbird. Nathan was most recently seen at the Dallas Theater Center as one of the school children in the summer musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and as Peter Cratchit in DTC’s A Christmas Carol. Nathan attends the Theatre Arts Magnet Junior High School in Richardson. He enjoys making movies, acting, The Beatles, and Doctor Who. This is Nathan’s first show with Rover Dramawerks. He is very excited to be working with this cast and crew on The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker. Paris Miller is a 13 year old aspiring actor from Richardson, TX. She has been in many short plays in the DFW area and is thrilled to now be part of a Rover Dramawerks production! In her spare time, Paris also enjoys dancing, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and running track for her school. Paris has long term dreams of being on the big screen. Tom McWhorter is thankful to be returning to Rover after Black Comedy (Colonel Melkett) two years ago. He made his stage debut in The King and I (The King) in Shelbyville, Kentucky. He later enjoyed performing in The Music Man (Harold Hill) and Our Town (Stage Manager) here in Dallas. In more recent years he performed in RCT’s Annie (Roosevelt), PST’s Fu Manchu (Lionel Barton), GCT’s Cotton Patch Gospel (Jack), and Firehouse Theatre’s Romeo and Juliet. He gives God the glory for leading him to the theater, and gives thanks to his family for their enthusiastic support! Simon Nagles is a kind and bright student who is going into fourth grade in Fall, and is part of the Gifted and Talented Program of Frisco ISD. His favorite subjects are math and science, in addition to reading, mainly fiction books. One of his main interests is acting; the latest character he played was Jess Morgan, in the play Fools and Kings: The Tall Tale of Jobie and The Beer-Battered Boys, by Billy W. Boone II, directed by Lindsey Humphries at Lakeside Community Theatre. Other favorite roles include Thor, in The Nerd, by Larry Shue and directed by Carol M. Rice, with the Garland Civic Theater and Baa Baa, the black sheep, in The Big Bad Wolf and His Brother by Carol M. Rice at Rover’s Break a Leg! camp in Plano. Besides acting, Simon plays tennis and swims with the Plano swim team “Piranhas”, where in the first swim meet this summer, he got First place in the 100 IM event, and Second place in the 25 Back and 25 Free events. He enjoys spending time with his family, as well as playing with his friends.

Jason Rice has been on the Rover board since it was founded and is the current Board President. He has designed sound for such shows as Written in Time, The Crowd You’re in With, Morphic Resonance, Epic Proportions, Adventures in Mating, Mary’s Wedding, The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged), and Night Must Fall. He has received awards for acting and sound design, and he has written several custom murder mysteries and one-act plays. Jason has composed music for both live theatre and video, receiving the Aegis Award for his original composition for Matt Kaufman’s film short Willoughby. Some of the plays he has directed for Rover include More Fun Than Bowling, Premiere!, Around the World in 80 Days, The Runner Stumbles, and War of the Worlds, and he is excited to be directing next season’s Wrens. As much fun as theater is, Jason’s favorite role is Daddy to Stephen and Scott. “What’s my motivation for ‘Because I said so!’?” Gillian Salerno-Rebic is very glad to be working with Rover Dramawerks. Recent credits include props design at WaterTower Theatre for Black Tie and The Grapes of Wrath, assistant stage managing The Last Night of Ballyhoo (ICT Mainstage), stage managing A Behanding in Spokane (Second Thought Theatre) and Children (WingSpan Theatre Co), and costuming Noises Off (Pocket Sandwich Theatre). She was an apprentice at Theatre Three for the 2011-2012 Season where she was Production Assistant for Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, The Farnsworth Invention (The Column Awards-Best Equity Play), and It’s Only Life. She is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and a National Theatre Institute Alum. Matthew Stepanek is thrilled to be working with Rover for the first time. You may have seen Matthew performing as Robin Hood in On the Road to Sherwood at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre, or as Joe Farkis in GCT’s rendition of The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Matthew performed, teched, or managed twelve shows across Dallas in 2012; this year he’s taking it easy...only five productions so far. As a side note, he loves thin mints and if you supply him with a box before the show, he’ll attempt to incorporate dance moves from the last burlesque he performed into tonight’s show. Mary Tiner is pleased to return to the Rover Dramawerks stage. Her previous performances include Miss Tweed in Something’s Afoot, Madame Ernestine Von Liebedich in Little Mary Sunshine, Louise in Dilemmas with Dinner, and Mrs. Toothe in Everything in the Garden. Her other roles include Lady Riverdale in Death by Chocolate and Mrs. Boyle in The Mousetrap at Garland Civic Theatre, Mrs. Henry Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility for the Stolen Shakespeare Guild, Sondra “Sassy” Saxton in Debutante Warriors at The Eisemann Center of Performing Arts, and Edith in First Baptist Ivy Gap at ICT Mainstage. She has performed as an opera singer in Canada, Austria and the U.S. and is a voice teacher. She recently performed in The J.I.M. Experiment, a comedy improv group at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre. She thanks her family, friends, and cast members for all their love and support.

Cake Makes the World Go ‘Round!

MMM...Cake!

Still More Who's Who Bill Parr has been friends with Carol and Jason Rice (founders of Rover) since before they were Carol and Jason. And yet this is only the second time he has been allowed on the Rover stage, the first as Daddy in Morphic Resonance in 2003. For his last three shows he has played a grandfather. Most recently at the Runway Theatre in Grapevine he played Arvid Abernathy in Guys and Dolls and Judge Harper in Miracle on 34th Street. His own grandchildren even recognized type casting when they see it. And in the case of being Horace the 1st, they recognized the grumpy nature. Raychelle Presley made her stage debut in the fifth grade as part of the children's chorus in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Since that play, she has come a long way in plays such as Grease and A Midsummer Night's Dream. She holds awards for her portrayal of Becca in Rabbit Hole, one of her favorite roles, and Flo in Picnic. Outside of the theater Raychelle enjoys meeting new people and is actively involved in The Village Church's children ministry. Carol M. Rice is the Artistic Director of Rover Dramawerks, as well as one of the co-founders. For Rover, a few of the plays she has directed include Written in Time, The Crowd You’re in With, Morphic Resonance (both in 2003 and 2010), The Star-Spangled Girl, Epic Proportions, and Shakespeare in Hollywood. She also works all over the Metroplex as a director and actress, and most recently directed Noises Off at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre and The Nerd at Garland Civic Theatre. Also a playwright, she is proud to say that Rover has produced her world premieres of Around the World in 80 Days in 2008 and Murder at the Orient Burlesque in 2011. Several of her plays are published through Next Stage Press (www.nextstagepress.com). Despite her absolute love of theatre, her favorite roles are Wife to best friend Jason and Mommy to Stephen and Scott.

Peyton Nicholson is 9 years old and entering the fourth grade. He started acting in March of 2012 making his debut as JoJo in Seussical. He has since been The Mirror in Snow White, a dog in Babe, Fudge in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Flounder in The Little Mermaid and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Peyton is also currently playing Michael in Peter Pan. Peyton will have his 100th performance at the conclusion of The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker. “Thanks to God, Mom and Dad, Danny, Becca and Carol.” Eight year old Parker Niksich has performed with Garland, McKinney, Richardson and Rockwall Community theaters and is thrilled to join Rover Dramawerks as Edward. Parker is also starring as “Billy” in the soon to be released movie Final Recourse. He is a third grade Honor student at Walnut Glen Academy who plays soccer, basketball and piano. Parker has greatly enjoyed being a part of Pennypacker with his father, Steve and thanks Carol and her team for providing such a great learning experience. Steve Niksich is an Engineer by day for Raytheon and an aspiring actor at night. He enjoys acting with his sons Parker and Riley and has been in performances with them at McKinney and Rockwall Community theaters. Steve has worked in several films, TV shows and commercials including Sacrament, Hoovey, Dallas, and New Beginnings. For Steve, theater provides an opportunity to be a “student” with his sons and to be a part of the talented acting community within DFW. He gives thanks to Carol, the crew and cast for the experience and the memories he will have with his son. Kennedy O’Kelley is an eighth grader and so excited to be in her first Rover Dramawerks production! No stranger to the stage, she has wanted to be the “star of the show” since her first performance as an Angel in The Christmas Story at age 4. Her favorite roles to date include Annie in Annie and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, (PCT), and a cupcake in Pinkalicious! (Dallas Children’s Theatre). Her dream role is to play the ever “Popular” Glinda at the Gershwin Theatre. Big thanks to the amazing Pennypacker family and much love to her family and friends for supporting her love of theatre.
