'"He's a really complex character in the pointof fact that he's almost schizophrenicbecause his mood and voicechange throughout the

entire show; heportrays a lot of

differentcharacters and a

lot of differentemotions rightback to back."

- KEITH PEACOCK (10)

Madison Wilcox (12) works with theprops and costumes for theproduction. She had to make sureeverything was preset before the playbegan to help actors change as

quickly as possible. Wilcox said,"The only difficulties I had involvedquick changes."

Kayla Mathews (11) playsa major role in theater

productions by workingsound. Mathews said,

“The most difficult thingwhen preparing for a showis not getting overwhelmedwith nerves. To be able tofeel and know you are

in control and knowwhat [you’re] doing."

AndrewBarlow (12)adjusts thespecial effectswhile HannahHatcher (11)follows alongin the script tohelp frombackstage. They had to

stay vigilant throughout the play tomake sure things ran smoothly.

The three orphans, played by GalenGraff (10), David Tabidze (10), andJude Mullins (9), struggle to tell a storyproperly in order to entertain themollusks holding them captive. The boyshad gone into the jungle to try to findMolly, only to find their lives in dangeronce more. Teddy, Mullins' character, struggled the most as he tried to figure

out how exactly one was to eat apineapple.

Galen Graff (10), playing Peter, looks for his lost boysin the dense jungle. "I struggled with bringing thepitch of my voice down to where it was natural andnot yelling or monotone," Graff said. "And then

making sure that I was always in character."Fighting Prawn, played by MicahGraciani (12), with his fellow mollusks,

Anna Goode (12), Chase Graham (12),and Devan Milling (10) at his side, giveshis captured victims time to entertain himbefore being fed to the crocodile. "I have

never played a character like that before,"Graciani said, "and I was able to

experiment with how my character wouldreact to everything -- and that was

really fun."

&PETER The STARCatcher

Lord Aster, played byChase Graham (12),attempts to contact hisdaughter Molly, playedby Shelby Bennett(11), using an amuletfull of "starstuff." Therole of Aster waschallenging. "Out of allthe roles of the play,"Graham said, "I wasthe most scared to playAster (Molly's father)because I wasn't reallysure how to portray thecharacter. So at first itwas a little awkwardplaying a posh, Britishfather. However, Ibegan to somewhatenjoy the show and therole I was cast in, andit became more naturaleach time we ran theshow."
