This School is named afterthe Timucuan IndianTown of Alimacani.Alimacani, meaning“Sweet Land By TheSea”, was located onnearby Ft. George Island.Its chieftain bore thesame name as histown, which appearedon the first French mapof the area in 1564.

The Timucuans were astrong and noble race ofpeople whose ancestorshad lived here forhundreds of years. Theirbeautiful land is ourinheritance. It is ourresponsibility tosafeguard it forgenerations yet to come.
