Representation in the music video (The Game – ali bomaye)
Anti-Realist
• Class/status.• Plenty of materialism – lots of expensive cars,
clothes, jewellery and other merchandise.• Cameras look up on the star to symbolise the star
is more powerful.• The star and other artists repeadtly rap about
money and women to show they are superior .
Regressive• Voyeuristic treatment to the female body shown
in the music video as the women hardly have any clothes on and they are in the passenger or hood (bonnet) of the car.
• The over use of the word (Bitch) in the lyrics represents old fashion views.
• Strip club scene very voyeuristic.
Dominant value• Materialism as there is lots of expensive clothes,
cars, jewellery and other merchandise.• Celebrity culture of course as of all the tattoos
that the stars in the video have also the excessive talk of money and cars also beautiful women
Star image • Always low angle shots on “the game” and “rick
ross” in particular. Not so much on “too short “. But this indicated/represents that they are more powerful and rich even more than “too short” maybe?
• Also lots of materialism expensive cars, clothes, jewellery
• Lyrics about money
gender• The women in the music video are only shown
briefly this maybe trying to show there not equal or not as important.
• Treated in the video like another materialistic object as females are only shown stood next to a car or in the strip club.
• All the women are also in the back of the car.
