A PRESENTATION ON INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

WHAT IS INCLUSIVE EDUCATION ?

Inclusion in education is an approach to educating students with special educational needs. Under the inclusion model, students with special needs spend most or all of their time with non-disabled students. Implementation of these practices may vary. Schools most frequently use them for selected students with mild to severe special needs.

Fully inclusive schools, which are rare, no longer distinguish between "general education" and "special education" programs; instead, the school is restructured so that all students learn together.

FEEL :

There are a lot of problems in India. But the one that troubled us the most is the negligence faced by physically and mentally challenged people.

These children are considered to be an outcast. They are pitied upon.

City Montessori School Mahanagar Campus 1 has included about 30 disabled students in their main stream education.

They are provided with all possible help from the school and special classes are arranged for them.

them their due recognition by including them in the main stream

education system.They take part in various co-curricular activities like dancing, singing , art and craft etc.

DO :We spent a day with Kartikay Pandey , aphysically & mentally challenged boy of 9 years.He is suffering from CEREBRAL PLASY.Kartikay is a very jolly boy and we interacted with him and

found him to be very active. Our school has arranged a computer for kartikay to work on. A special teacher has been recruited for kartikay and for

many such students in different classesKartikay has been trained to work on a computer and he

usually expresses himself through the “MS WORD” software.

WHAT IS INNERSCAPE ?o Innerscape is an event which is open for all

participants around the world who are mentally physically and visually challenged.

o These children come together without any care for any man made barriers or prejudices of race cast, color creed class religious or narrow nationalism .we are filled with hope because we know that these children will one day surely change the world and their efforts will create a new united global family.

o This event is organized annually in the month of December and participants from around the world are inculcated in interesting activities which help the students forget their grievances and make them FEEL SPECIAL.

Mahanagar 1st Campus lays emphasis on the education of disabled children. For this they

have incorporated many of the physically and

mentally challenged children into their main stream education system.

WORDS FROM THE PRINCIPAL Our respected principal Mrs. Nalini

Sharad came up with the humane idea of incorporating inclusive education nearly 2 years ago. From then ,we have received remarkable success and our school has been recognized by many renowned authorities.

We intend to keep up this drive and include many more such children in our mainstream education.
