Narrative Outline

When a social media addicted teenage girl finally turns 17 and has a party, not all goes as she plans.

When an anonymous man turns up and proceeds to kidnap her it is revealed he has been stalking her for a year previous to her party.

Once her disappearance from the party is discovered her friends set out to find her. But she is being transported to and then tied up in an abandoned building. But where is she now?

Is that her? Friend and boyfriend discover a body but is she alive is the real question.

Key characters

Sophie Turner– 17year old girl throwing a party who is kidnapped by an anonymous man.

Stuart– kidnapper of 17year old Sophie’s, who turns out to be her brother retelling his past.

Narrative construction The opening titles of our will be presented on the victim ‘Sophie

turners’ Facebook page, towards the bottom of the page the title of the film will be embedded into a clip. This will be clicked on and made full screen reveling the title of the film. The main structure of the film will then open with a board covered in pictures of Sophie and the location at which they were taken, From then it will move to a notification telling the audience about Sophie's party ,the stalker moves will be shown on a map. He will then be seen approaching the party and kidnapping her. Shortly after taking her to a secret location her friends will commence a search for her. But what will they find?

Ideas/Messages/Themes

Everyone can see what you post online and it will never go away. Social media is like an eye in the sky you every move is tracked by everyone and anyone, you can never get away! It may seem like a good idea at first but you never know who's watching your every move!

Target Audience

Our target audience will be teenagers ad young adults as the story fits around some of there lifestyles.

The short film will take place at a party and in an old barn.

This will link to the target audience as not only do teenagers and young adults enjoy watching the thriller genre, they will find it interesting.

Practical Details

Our film will require a lot of time to create as we want to make it as good as we can. We will record many shots numerous times to get different opinions and will create other ideas.

Research is vital in the creation as then we can work out exactly what we are doing and how we are going to do it.

Location is crucial in a thriller film as it sets the scene and gives the audience an idea of what will happen based on just the location.

Equipment & problems we may be faced with!

A cannon camcorder Artificial lighting – candles Get away vehicle Tripod – to ensure steady shots Steadicam for POV shots Some of the problems we may be faced with are;

- The candles could also be spread and create a fire. To prevent this we will keep a fire extinguisher with us at all times. - Also other problems are batteries running out on the cameras, so we will carry spare ones. - To ensure good quality footage we will commence practice trials before filming and check weather conditions so are props and film quality is to the highest standard. - As we are using an old abandoned barn, to ensure it is not dangerous and we are safe we will check it first and have a adult with us just in case.

Thriller Conventions

Setting- We have chosen to go with an old abandoned building which is common in a thriller film as it makes suspense and is a strange but unique location.

Character- We have decided to go with a young vulnerable girl which is also common in a horror film because it makes the storyline interesting.

Clothing-Mask- Hiding the persons identity is very common in a thriller film because it makes the narrative very complex as we don’t know who is behind the mask.
