• Students are assessed via Continual and Semestral Assessments
• Continual Assessments are tests, quizzes, assignments, projects, class work, homework, etc
• Semestral Assessments are exams that occur at the end of each semester in November and May (Gr 4 and up)

• For Lower Primary, the CAs makes up 100% of the marks• 20% each in Q1 and Q2• 30% each in Q3 and Q4
• For Upper Primary the CAs make up 40% of the marks while the SAs make up the other 60%.• CA1 – 8%, CA2 – 8%, CA3 – 12%, CA4 – 12%• SA1 – 24%, SA2 – 36%• Students need to pass English and 2 other core subjects

Co-Curriculur Activities (CCAs)
• We have a wide range of CCAs to choose from.• Students are encouraged to take at least one.• There is no limit on the number of CCAs to be
taken but students must be able to balance the time for studies, CCAs and other activities.

• School functions from 07.25 to 14.30 on Mon – Fri• CCAs take place after 14.30• Students may either bring food from home or
purchase from school for snack and lunch.• School Cafeteria runs on a voucher scheme.
Vouchers may be purchased from the Shop or Cafeteria.

Essential Information• Homework is an essential part of school but
may come in various forms• Communication with the school and teachers
may be via telephone, email, the school website, the school diary, the Tiara Weekly, etc
• Parents must check the diary daily as it is an essential communication tool

every day.• A timetable is given so that students can
pack their bags accordingly.• Students are encouraged to bring their own

They should have a fiction book to read while waiting
Parents must inform the School of absences as soon as possible
If students need to leave School early, parents should write to inform the HRT at least a day in advance except for emergencies

• Making an Appointment• The Admin Office will help parents make appointments to
meet with teachers. Teachers may not be available to meet if parents turn up in school without an appointment.

First Day of School – 10 July 2012
• Students should go to the Sports Hall by 07.25 and sit according to their grade levels
• Parents should leave students to settle in on their own
• When students go to class, parents may wait in the cafeteria
• Please do not stand along the corridor and look through the class windows

call area after school and dismiss them from there
