from major transportation hubs like Miami,

Houston, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta and Los Angeles

After landing, Mukul is only a scenic 120-minute

ride away from the airport. Complimentary

ground transfers available with minimum four

and start at $300 from Liberia Airport in Costa

Pellas Story

Long before either of them had visions of spending time at Manzanillo Beach, Don

Carlos and Vivian survived a horrific plane crash in the mountains of Honduras.

Claiming the lives of 149 people and leaving only nine survivors, the crash was one of

the worst in Central American aviation history. Mrs. Pellas remembered little of the

crash, recalling only her husband unfastening her seat belt, seeing a flash of light,

being carried away from the flames that engulfed the plane, and finally arriving at the

nearest hospital on a rickety truck that transported the survivors from the 5,000-ft.

mountain. This single event sparked a lifetime of philanthropy for Don Carlos and

Vivian.

“We are creating a catalyst that will put our country on the world tourism map,” said

Pellas. “Mukul will be a game changer for Nicaragua.”

Mukul and Guacalito de la Isla are the vision of prominent Nicaraguan entrepreneur

Don Carlos Pellas, whose family has roots in the country that date back to the 19th

century.

With Mukul and Guacalito de la Isla, Pellas is establishing his family legacy – a pristine

natural sanctuary where guests will enjoy luxurious pampering while connecting in

authentic ways to the land, culture and people of Nicaragua, and the surrounding

community will benefit from the resulting jobs, schools and improved infrastructure.

For five generations, the Pellas family have invested their lives and their livelihood in

Nicaragua. This country is their heart and soul. The man at the helm of the family

business, Don Carlos Pellas, together with his wife Vivian, discovered this gorgeous

place on Nicaragua’s Pacific coast nearly a decade ago. While sport fishing along the

rocky coastline, Don Carlos marveled at the beauty of this land over and over, until he

finally acquired it.

Villas Seemingly as a gesture of appreciation, the 12 Beach Villas at Mukul were built to pay tribute to the tropical, rolling surf of Playa Manzanillo. Above the entry

vestibule hangs a chandelier made from custom-designed mussel sells. Bathrooms include separate his and hers vanity rooms, one facing a palatial garden, the

other facing the ocean, both with a Liquid Temple filled monsoon showers and soaking tubs.

Outside, each Beach Villa includes a wrap-around deck, private swimming pool, outdoor lounging palapa and a secret garden with an outdoor shower. For

added space, the two-bedroom villas are family compounds with their own private show kitchen, pantry and living room. It's barefoot luxury at its best.
