excellent place which you can go in Colombia.

Santa Marta is located in Magdalena department in

the north of the country and on the shores of the

Caribbean Sea at the foothills of the magnificent Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta.

You can visit historic places of this city, for example you can visit Santa Marta Cathedral. This place is visited by a lot of people on July 29th of each year. It

was first Cathedral build in this country. There you can see the tomb

of Simon Bolivar; this place is very popular in the Atlántico region.

And also you can visit La Quinta de San Pedro

Alenjandrino. In this place Simon Bolivar died. There

you find wonderful and big gardens around.

Well, in this city you can go to beach, I recommend Rodadero, It’s good. You can find a lot of people all day and also you meet different people of other countries.

This beach is near down town and is very cheap. Or you can take motorboat to go to other beach near there. For

example white beach, It‘s beautiful..! In this place you can go snorkeling. or also you can walk for the shores ten

minutes and you find a small nudist beach.

You can go to CIUDAD PERDIDA, the most important of the indigenous settlement discovered in the Sierra

Nevada. To 950 meters on the level of the sea and with more than 250 terraces.

It’s virgin beaches, natural parks, exuberant mountains, make of Santa Marta a city full of nature. It’s an excellent

place to visit, you will not regret.

SIERRA NEVADA DE SANTA MARTA, the highest mountain of the world in front of the sea, lived by diverse ethnic and cultural groups. Arhuacos, Kogis and the last descendants from the

Tayronas.

And if you have a lot of time you can visit other cities around, for example Valledupar, Guajira, And Cartagena. These places are very beautiful. If you would like to go, you should make a list of the things that you could need in this place, it's not hard to do! for example: If you go to Santa Marta to know the sea, it’s not necessary to carry a lot of thing because you can buy them there, it’s easy..! or you need to carry little things with sandals, sunglasses, address of the hotel, cash, light clothing, your insurance card, ID, bathing suit, sunscreen, cap or hat, camera, batteries, if you go in high seasons you should take a tent because the sun gets extremely bright and it's very sunny and you don't find place where protect of the sun. Near the beach. But if you go to other places you need to make a list and you should carry other things besides the above.
