PRESENT SIMPLE
The Present Simple is used to
express the idea that an action is
repeated or usual.
The action can be a habit, a hobby,
a daily event, a routine, a scheduled
event or something that often
happens.
PRESENT SIMPLE
It is formed with the following elements:
• Subject (noun or pronoun)
• Verb in its basic form
Add an “s” if the subject corresponds
to a third person of the singular
• Complement
Examples:
Sonia is a teacher
Gina cooks every Friday
My friends go to parties every weekend
I drink cold milk in the morning
You look beautiful today
My father and I walk in the park in the
afteroon
PRESENT PROGRESSIVE
The present progressive is used to
express actions that are happening
now.
PRESENT PROGRESSIVE
It is formed by combining the following
elements:
• Subject (noun or pronoun)
• Verb “to be”
• Main verb in present participle (“ing”
ending)
• Complement
Examples:
Eva is training hard in this moment
Tony and his girlfriend are dancing now
The cat is running in the garden
I am doing my Power Point presentation
You are singing very loud
