PREPARATION OF ARKA LAVANA

Contents-
ARKA PATRA (Calotropis procera)- 73 gmsSAINDHAVA LAVANA (rock salt)-73 gms
OTHER MATERIALS REQUIRED- SARAVA (earthen pot) 2 In no. Cow dung cakes- 40 in number
Procedure-
Fresh leaves of Arka (Calotropis procera) were obtained cleaned properly and subjected to drying.
Saindhava lavana (rock salt) was taken and very fine powder was made.

Cont..Leaf of Arka were kept in sarava and above to it fine powder of rock salt was spread uniformly.
Another leaf was kept over it and rock salt was spread.
The process was done until the leaves and rock salt is arranged layer by layer.
Than another sarava was kept over it and sealing was done with mud smeared cloth and kept for drying in hot air over.
Cont.. It was than subjected to puta, after self cooling sarava was taken out and sealing was removed.
Complete burning of the leaves was observed indicating that the procedure was successful.
Leaves along with salt in between the layers was taken out carefully and subjected to fine powder.
Later on it was kept in air tight container as its nature is hygroscopic.

Anupana- with luke warm water
Contraindications- a patient suffering from High blood pressure should use this under proper supervision.
