A discussion on How to Prepare Your Winter Holiday Email Marketing Strategy.
Some people are last minute holiday shoppers, but planning for your email campaigns cannot be put off until December 24th. Now is the time to begin working on your holiday email marketing strategies. Even before the tricks and treats of Halloween.
What has, or hasn’t, worked in years past? How did your competitors do it? You’ve got plenty of time to collect additional customer data for more focused targeting.
Your customers will feel the warm wishes of your holiday card if you don’t use it as a thinly veiled marketing attempt. This will stand to improve your brand recognition and customer loyalty. Wish them a happy holiday, and let it go at that.
Always use “Happy Holidays” and “Seasons Greetings,” instead of “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Hanukkah” or “Joyous Kwanzaa.”
Take the economy into consideration. Some have rebounded, but some may be worse off than last year. Past behavior may give you some insight into this issue. Wise email marketers who are sensitive to the new economic realities can still manage to obtain competitive advantages.
