CENTRAL FLORIDA COUNCIL BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

EAGLE SCOUT CANDIDATE REFERENCE

SCOUT NAME: UNIT NUMBER: DEAR ,

This Scout is seeking to qualify for the Eagle Scout Rank of the Boy Scouts of America. This is Scouting’s highest rank and is earned by only four percent of any of the young men joining the Scouting program. He will be required to appear before a group of adults, the Board of Review, serving as a reviewing body concerned with his development to manhood.

To become an Eagle Scout, much more is expected of him than his record of progress in Scouting skills. His daily effort to live up to the principles of the Scout Oath and Scout Law, which will determine his potential as a citizen in the home, school, community and place of worship, must stand as essential elements in life. Your assistance is needed as a fair estimate of this Scout. Therefore you are being solicited as a character reference for this Scout. The Scouting organization requests that you attach your personal remarks as to the worthiness of this Scout to attain the honor of Eagle Scout. Your commentary will be read by the convening Board but will not be shared with the Scout or any other non-Board member. Please note that relatives of the Scout may not serve on the Board. Additionally, upon conclusion of the Board, your commentary will be destroyed.

Please attach another sheet should you require more space. The Boy Scouts of America thank you for your consideration.
