Some of the Achievements

• Galaxy Studios broke world records for sound insulation and the quietest air-conditioning systems. With 11 different bunkers (each weighing between 200 and 1,500 tons), resonance frequencies below 3 Hz, panels of 11 cm thick glass (weighing more than one ton) and electrical earth below 1 Ohm, the famous Galaxy Hall for orchestral recording can be interactively combined in response to technical and acoustical production requirements. Together, these characteristics make Galaxy Studios and its top-level team regular winners of international awards.

» 1995 : (March) opening Galaxy Studios facilities

» 1996 : Building of the first room for 5.1 music production and order of first 5.1 SSL 9000 (opening in 1997)

» 2002 : Reference Mastering Room ; development (together with SPL) of first 7.1 MMC (Music Mastering Console), which became a worldwide top reference

» 2004 : Development of Vision (API) : the first music console for dedicated 5.1 mixing allowing simultaneous Stereo mix. It delivered the clients 2 formats (5.1 Surround and Stereo) for the price of one

» 2004 : Order of first AMS-Neve 88D console, capable of 1.000 channel mixing in standard resolution or 250 channels in 192 kHz (Super Resolution Audio)

» 2005 : Co-production of first pop-production in the 2+2+2 semi-spatial format

» 2005 : Development of Auro-3D 9.1 format and concept by Wilfried Van Baelen

» 2006 : (May) Launch of Auro-3D 9.1 at AES Convention in Paris and in San Francisco (October)
