INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION

1. Owing to the nature of this practical examination, it is important to note that, even if you complete the examination early, you will NOT be permitted to leave the examination room until all the administrative functions associated with the examination have been finalised. During the examination, normal rules regarding leaving the examination room apply.

2. If you are working on the network, or the data files have been preloaded, you must follow the instructions provided by the invigilator/educator. Alternatively, the invigilator will give you a CD/DVD/flash drive containing all the files needed for the examination. If a CD/DVD/flash drive has been issued to you, you must write your name and surname and centre number on the CD/DVD/flash drive.

3. At the end of the examination, you must hand in the CD/DVD/flash drive given to you by the invigilator with ALL your answer files saved onto the CD/DVD/flash drive, OR you should make sure that ALL the answer files are saved on the network/computer as explained to you by the invigilator/educator.

4. Make absolutely sure that all files can be read. Do NOT save unnecessary files/folders and do NOT hand in duplicate answer files/folders. Do NOT delete any original files that you did not work on.

5. The information sheet that has been provided with the question paper MUST BE COMPLETED AFTER THE THREE-HOUR EXAMINATION SESSION. Hand it to the invigilator at the end of the examination.

6. A copy of the master files will be available from the invigilator. Should there be any problems with a file, you may request another copy from the invigilator.

7. This question paper consists of SEVEN questions. Answer ALL the questions.

8. Read through each question before answering or solving the problem. Do NOT

SCENARIO The Olympic Games are held every four years, alternating between the Summer and Winter Games every two years in the four-year period. Their creation was inspired by the ancient Olympic Games, which were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD.

QUESTION 1 – WORD PROCESSING A document was created to give information on the various Olympic athletes and events. Open the 1Modern word processing document and insert your name and surname in the header or footer.

1.1 Add the following to the properties of the document:

• Insert 'History in Olympics' as the document subtitle.

• Insert 'Olympics' as one of the categories of the document.

• Replace the author with 'O Grady'.

(3) 1.2 Insert an automatic table of contents as follows:

• Add the table of contents below the heading 'Table of Contents' on the second page.

• Ensure that the table of contents is in the Classic format.

• Apply any tab leader.

QUESTION 2 – WORD PROCESSING A document about the history of the Olympic Games has been created. Open the 2History word processing document and insert your name and surname in the header.

Families need to save money for travel, accommodation and food to be able to attend the Olympic Games. Open the 3Budget spreadsheet and work in the Sheet1 worksheet.

3.1 Rename the Sheet1 worksheet to 'Family' AND change the tab colour to any

colour of your choice.

(2) 3.2 Make the following changes to cells D7:G7:

• Merge and centre these cells.

• Shade these cells with one shade darker than cells D8:G8.

(3) 3.3 Insert a function in cell B3 to indicate the number of family members

(column B) that appear most often.

(2) 3.4 The rand/dollar exchange rate is R18.50 South African rand for each dollar.

The amount in column G is the amount saved by each family and is displayed in dollars. Insert a formula in cell B4 to determine the total value of the money saved in South African rand. Display the amount in cell B4 in South African currency.

(5) 3.5 Insert a function in cell B5 to display how many families prefer the 'Luxury'

type (column C).

(3) 3.6 Insert a function in cell D15 to display the amount that the Mokoena family

The 4Cost spreadsheet contains the cost spent per athlete that participated in the Olympic Games. Open the 4Cost spreadsheet and work in Cost worksheet.

4.1 Sort the spreadsheet ascending according to the year (column A). (1) 4.2 Data validation has been applied to column D.

Correct the data validation so that the user is able to select from the 'Winter' or 'Summer' options. NOTE: Find Data Validation on the Data tab in the Data Tools group.

(2) 4.3 Apply a spreadsheet feature to column E to display a solid fill green data bar

to the cells. The higher the value the longer the bar should be.

(3) 4.4 A country only qualified for a discount if the country participated in 100 or more

events (column F) AND had more than 10 000 athletes (column G). Insert a nested IF function in cell J5 to display 'Yes' if the country qualified for a discount or 'No' if the country did not qualify for a discount.

Copy the function down to the other cells.

(6) 4.5 Insert a function in cell L7 to calculate the total cost for all athletes (column I)

spent by the United States (column B) for the Summer Games (column D).

(6) 4.6 Hide row 1 to row 3. (1) Work in the Total worksheet. 4.7 Use the SUBTOTAL feature to display the total cost for each type of game. (4) Work in the Type worksheet. 4.8 Insert a line chart sparkline in cell E2 similar to that in cell E1 that will display

QUESTION 5 – DATABASE A database contains data of the athletes and events of the Olympic Games. Open the 5Athletes database.

5.1 Open the Events table in Design View and make the following changes. 5.1.1 Ensure that an entry should always be inserted in the Event field

AND change the field size to 20. (2)

5.1.2 Use a field property to guide users to insert data in the Code field

as follows:

• Three letters in uppercase

• An "@" sign

• 2 or 3 digits

• Examples: SWI@10, ATH@569, RUN@23

(5) 5.1.3 The list of venues in the Venues field for the Olympic games are

incomplete. Use the table Venue to insert the items for the list.

(3) 5.1.4 Ensure that only amounts from 500 to 2000 can be entered in the

Amount field. Add an appropriate message if this is not followed. (4)

5.1.5 Insert a new field called Total that will calculate the amount for all

athletes per event by multiplying the Participants with the Amount. (3)

Save and close the Events table. 5.2 Open the frm5_2 form in Design View.

Make the following changes to the form:

• Add the 5Logo.jpg as a background to the form.

• Add your name and surname in the form footer.
