How God Works in Our Ministry: Client Story

M y name is Nancy. My husband and I conceived our daughter in 2007.

We had just got married and there was domestic violence in our rela-

tionship, so we needed to separate. I wanted much more for our child than

the way I was living.

I then contacted the Pregnancy Resource Center of Milton. I started go-

ing to classes. I was not on my medications for my bipolar so my pregnancy

was really difficult for me. It was stressful because of the break up, living in a

homeless shelter, mood swings from the bipolar and a pregnancy all com-

bined together.

The ladies at the Pregnancy Resource Center were really kind and com-

passionate to me. They really saw me through the hard times! They kept en-

couraging me that, “just wait, when you see that baby of yours…your tears will

turn into joy”. They were right and I couldn’t have a better life than I have

now.

I am saved now and have a 3 year old child. She is the light of my life. If

it was not for the Pregnancy Resource Center, I would have been really lost

through out my pregnancy. So, I am forever grateful for their encourage-

ment, dedication, and support.

Surrendering the Secret R

ecent research indicates that more than 40% of women of

child bearing age have suffered the pain of abortion. Many

women struggle with years of repressed memories, guilt, shame,

depression, and feelings of failure. These women often suffer in

silence and keep their hidden pain for a life time, allowing these

destructive effects to isolate them from experiencing true healing.

After much prayer, the PRC has envisioned and embraced a post

abortion healing program to minister to these women in Santa Rosa

County. Please pray for those who walk this journey and for those

who lead. God is doing a mighty work on their life.

Please call or email the center if you would like more information.

Prayer Time If you would like to pray for a specific fam-

ily just come by the PRC and pick up a

prayer card. We make two magnetic

prayer cards for each client and would be

delighted to share them with you.

being obedient to the call placed on

your life. We love you! We would like to thank our supporters for helping us make our cookbook sale such a success and let you know that it’s not too late to purchase one. The PRC Cookbooks are still avail-able from the center for $15.00 each.

NEW

CRIB STANDARDS:

Due to the new standards

on Cribs the PRC will no

longer be able to accept

used cribs. Beginning June

28, 2011 all cribs sold in the

United States must meet

new federal requirements

for overall crib safety.

5 New Federal

Requirements for cribs: Traditional drop-side

cribs cannot be

made or sold;

immobilizers and

repair kits not

allowed Wood slats must be

made of stronger

woods to prevent

breakage Crib hardware must

have anti-loosening

devices to keep it

from coming loose or

falling off Mattress supports

must be more

durable Safety testing must

be more rigorous

NSN Beginning June 28, 2011, all cribs manufac-

tured and sold (including resale) must comply with

new and improved federal safety standards. The

new rules, which apply to full-size and non full-size

cribs, prohibit the manufacture or sale of tradi-

tional drop-side rail cribs, strengthen crib slats and

mattress supports, improve the quality of hardware

and require more rigorous testing.

The details of the rule are

available on CPSC’s website at

www.cpsc.gov/businfo/frnotices/fr11/cribfinal.pdf.

The new rules also apply to cribs currently in use at

child care centers and places of public accom-

modation. By December 28, 2012, these facilities

must use only compliant cribs that meet the new

federal safety standards.

SafeSleep is a campaign of the U.S. Consumer

Product Safety Commission.
