There were a variety of events, sprints of 50, 75 and 100metres helped build the agility of our students. Fun races like Animal Walk Race, Alphabet Race, Ball and Bucket Race to name a few, besides being a lot of fun stoked the students' competitive spirit.

thOn 25 February, each and every pupil, starting from the Play Group and all the way upto Class 4 was ready to participate in the Annual Sports Day with a spirit of true sportsmanship, fair play and determination. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Runmuni Bhattacharjee, the founder principal of the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Tezpur University. The officiating Chairman of The Assam Valley School, the Head of School, the Senior Management Team and the parents of our dear pupils were the enthusiastic spectators.

The primary section of the Assam Valley School, Sunnyside, besides equipping the students with literacy, numeracy, creativity and communication skills, ignites in the child the joy of learning and the desire to continue learning. The emphasis is on academic excellence and all-round development of the students.

Excellence in academic performance through Active learning and Cross Curricular methodology is the primary objective of the school along with its sustained efforts to inculcate values in building citizens for a brighter India. The school aims at the holistic development of students through harnessing of leadership skills, a spirit of tolerance, a collaborative outlook and respect towards one's friends, family and nation.

VARIETY SHOW The show commenced with the auspicious 'Ganesh Vandana' dance which expressed the value of truth and the conviction that it always prevails. The budding musical talents of AVS Sunnyside rendered mellifluous songs like ABC Boogie,500 miles,'Maa Saraswati Vandana' and many more. The English skit, 'Mr. Sun Takes a Holiday – A Nature Story', presented the theme that all pain and suffering can be alleviated with empathy and compassion. The 'Bhangra' folk dance was an energetic performance by our senior wing students, a scintillating fusion of traditional and modern 'Bhangra' steps.

Every opportunity is provided to the students to develop their talent in dance, music, art, communication, games and various other co-curricular activities.

All the students are encouraged to take part in the Variety Show and Annual Sports Day to showcase their talent and skills.
