Words That Work• Staff is told that they can enter a blue or yellow

sign room– “As part of food service procedures for

isolation signs I am not able to enter those rooms. If you would like I could contact my Manager who can come and talk to you about our procedures with these signs”.

Words That Work• Staff is told by a nurse that they are not

correctly following the precaution steps or told they should be washing in and washing out of each room.– “Food Service has worked closely with

infection control to adapt the clinical procedures for these signs. Although they are closely related our procedures are slightly different because we don’t have patient contact. If you would like I could contact my Manager who can come and talk to you about our procedures with these signs.”
