This Registered Detail relates to the Balfour Beatty Ground engineering Precast Concrete Ground Beam System, a pre-cast
reinforced concrete ground beam for carrying wall and floor loads between pile caps in all types of traditional. The system is
carried by concrete piles which do not form part of this Registered Detail.
The pile design will be covered separately on a site specific basis
The sulphate resistance of the concrete is equivalent to DC-3. Resistance above this will be dealt with on a site specific basis
Ground heave requirements will be specified on a site specific basis but generally in accordance with the typical heave details
issued
Gas/Contamination protection will be as specified by the client’s engineer on a site specific basis.
For Part E Robust Details a minimum 225mm deep cavity between the top of the foundation beam and the underside of the
floor beam is required.
LABC consider that, Precast Ground Beam System will meet the functional requirements of the Building
Regulations (listed below) if the criteria detailed in this certificate are met;
