When someone is a suspect in a criminal case or when he is convicted, it is important that the Judge makes the right decision

That is why the Probation Service gives advice to Judges and Prosecutors in various moments in the criminal proceedings:

-After a suspect is arrested

-Before a court trial

-And also during the detention of an offender, the advice by the Probation Service plays a major role

The professional opinion of the probation officer is of great importance when drafting an advice report

He uses an assessment tool that assists him in analysing the risk of re-offending

The report also outlines-what is necessary to reduce the risks for society

-what circumstances of the offender played a role in his criminal behaviour

-and what possibilities exist to positevely influence the behaviour of the suspect or offender

In addition to the analysis and opinion of the probation Service, the report also contains the views of the offender himself

In case the offender does not want to cooperate, the probation Service can still

produce the advise report
