Status of Project Existing
2.2. Brief Description of Nature of the Project.
The project is a very small project of Stone for making Gitti of minor mineral
in area 3.690 Hectare. The mining is proposed in Government land in village
Kukur Bhuka. This project will produce 5500 Ton stone for making Gitti per
7
annum which will be supplied to consumer for civil construction and other
infrastructural development.
2.3. Need for the Project and its importance to the country and region.
The project is of minor mineral Stone for making Gitti used as aggregate for
construction and building structure. It has a local market. Jashpur is a
backward developing district of Chhattisgarh. Kansabel, Tapkara, Kunkuri,
Pathalgaon, Ludeg and Jashpur cities located close to the mine and a lot of
construction and infrastructure development activities are in progress which
requires Crushed Stone. The demand of Crushed Stones is huge and existing
mines are not able to meet the growing demand. This project will narrow
down the demand supply gap of this important building material. Hence the
project will help in the development of the district.
2.4. Demand Supply Gap:
Jashpur is a developing district of Chhattisgarh which is growing
exponentially, lot of industrial and infra work is in progress that requires
crushed stone, presently there is a huge gap between demand and supply.
The existing mines around Jashpur are not capable of meeting this growing
demand due to exponential growth of Jashpur. The demand is expected to
grow more in the years to come with development of Jashpur.
2.5. Demand Supply Analysis:
In Jashpur area for the development of Jashpur, Ludeg, Kunkuri and
Pathalgaon cities for construction work Gitti is required which is brought
from nearby district which is adding extra transportation cost on
construction work i.e demand is more compared to supply. The demand in
the domestic market is huge for Gitti and Stone for making Gitti is available in
abundant quantity in allotted area and can be mined indigenously.
8
2.6. Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) Due to the Project:
The project will generate direct employment to 01 supervisor, 01 mining
mate and 10 workers and indirect employment to about 10 persons
(transportation, canteen etc.).
