Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. Proverb 19: 17 Dear Friends of Our Homes, some weeks ago, our family had the opportunity to visit some friends of our missionary work in the east of Germany. It was a wonderful time of fellowshipping and hiking in the marvellous nature there. During this time, the grown-ups and the children memorized these verses from the book of Psalms. Each of the 22 stanzas contains 8 verses, all of which begin with a certain letter of the alphabet. The ninth letter T (for “teth”, verses 65-72) describe our God as the One being and doing “tov”, which means “ good”. When looking at creation, we should intuitively affirm this. And yet, the Psalmist interestingly first acknowledges that he had to be afflicted before recognizing that God’s thoughts and statutes are good – and indeed perfect! Romans 2:4 tells us the same thing: “Or do you presume on the riches of his goodness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's goodness is meant to lead you to repentance? We asked ourselves where we might be in danger of presumptuously focussing only on what we are supposedly lacking rather than directing our thoughts towards the goodness of God, even during a crisis such as this. But one thing is certain: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28). It is my hope and prayer that, in all humility, we will all more and more acknowledge the truth of these two verses. Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. Proverb 19: 17

Dear Friends of Our Homes,

some weeks ago, our family had the opportunity to visit some friends of our missionary work in the east of Germany. It was a wonderful time of fellowshipping and hiking in the marvellous nature there. During this time, the grown-ups and the children memorized these verses from the book of Psalms. Each of the 22 stanzas contains 8 verses, all of which begin with a certain letter of the alphabet. The ninth letter T (for “teth”, verses 65-72) describe our God as the One being and doing “tov”, which means “good”.

The Effects of Corona

Normally, I would have told you all about my visit at Casa Onisim, but this

year, everything is quite different. I could not travel there, the meetings could not talk place, and keep-ing in touch with staff and the children was only possible when using the telephone. While the children in Germany still go to school, this is unthinkable in both Romania and Pakistan. The steps taken against Corona have resulted in prolonged summer holidays. However, we are grateful that we could keep the school up and run-ning for our children in Petresti.

The Summer Break

The younger children have once again traveled to supporting families in Germany. All students in year 8 and 12 take their final exams right now. What the future holds for them remains yet to be seen and

continues to be a prayer request. Starting in Au-gust, most children will spent time with their rela-tives. Please also pray for the staff traveling back to Germany.

The pictures show the children on a day trip that was made possible once the situation became slightly relaxed. It was such a joy seeing them jump around happily and enjoying their freedom.

The Poor

People in Pakistan are suffering severely under the pandemic. Due to a

number of hot zones, many cities and regions have been completely locked down. There also seems to be a d r a m a t i c a l l y increasing number of deaths because of the virus. Brother Rafiq S. invests a lot of time and energy in supporting poor families with food.

The Children and Their Families

Every month, brother Javed visits the children to find out about how they are doing and to provide financial support for them and their families. Our request to be allowed to have the children stay at the home was not granted by the authorities. There are also no new school books that we could hand out to the students in order for them to get prepared for the new school year. Please join us in

praying for our little ones, so that their faith does not suffer and that, rather, the Word of God will guard and govern their hearts. Unfortunately, it is impossible to stay in contact with the children online.

Important Papers

A positive development is a registration process that the government carried out in order to reduce illegal financial transactions. We hope that this also puts an end to the issues we had with the donations we transfer over there.

Klaus Rost

Klaus will probably stay in Pakistan until July 5. All the return flights prior to this date had been canceled, but he was granted a visa extension. He made use of the last couple of weeks by helping Eleazar Müller’s project in Martinpur.

Newcomers We will accept five new students next school year. Please pray for wisdom, so that we can clearly see who God wants us to take in. God willing, our boarding school with its 66 students will reopen on September 14.

Matthias Müller’s Well-Being We also pray for our home leader Matthias Müller. Having spent much energy on work, he does not feel very well at the moment.

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times,

you may abound in every good work. 2. Corinthians 9: 8

Dear Intercessors and Supporters!

I am exceedingly joyful that Philippians 1:6 also applies to our work and the children: “I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Thank you for all your support! May our good God continue blessing you this summer!
