Sunday in Ordinary Time

Prayer for Independence Day

Dear God, as we celebrate today with fireworks and festivals, help us never to forget the reason for our joy.

Help us remember that our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were signed into our heritage with the willing blood of American patriots.

Most of all, help us remember that the rights of all people are more than words on a document,

And that all people have rights because you have given us the dignity of human life.

Grant freedom to all, and give us the strength to protect the rights of others.

Amen.

Cross Catholic Outreach

We Welcome Father Nghia Cao of Cross Catholic

Outreach who is speaking this weekend at all the

Masses on behalf of the of the poor in developing

countries.

Cross Catholic Outreach was founded to create a

meaningful link between Parishes in America and the

priests and nuns working in the church overseas in the

Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Central and South America.

Prayer of the Faithful:

That we may seek Jesus in the poorest of the poor

througth out the world.

… to serve the Lord and His people

here at Sacred Heart of Jesus

in some form of Liturgical Ministry?

We currently have needs to increase our numbers of

Lectors (Readers) and Altar Servers (students). If you feel

called to any of these important “works” in the Church,

please call Father Ireland at 216.382.7601. Please know

that there is training involved with each of these.

Our Director of Music, Mr. Mark Langley, is also

interested in adding new voices (young and older) to his

student and adult choirs. If you would be interested in

exploring that possibility with Mark, call him at

Can you Spare a Little Time...

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Please plan on attending our 9 a.m. Mass on the 4th of

July. There will be coffee and donuts following.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make Linda

Hart’s Retirement celebration so very special. Although

we will miss her in the classroom, we look forward to

seeing her continue her liturgical ministries here at the

parish.

Please be sure to keep Abbé Weaver in your prayers.

He will be ordained a deacon on Wednesday. We are

very proud of his accomplishments as he continues to

journey towards holy priesthood.

Please remember that next Saturday, following the 4

p.m. Mass, we will have our parish picnic. Please bring

a side dish to share. There is more information located

in the bulletin.

Also, please check out our webpage and sign up for

email updates of things happening in the parish.

Finally, please save July 23rd on your calendars!.

Cardinal Arinze will be offering a Pontifical High Mass

at 5 p.m. Please come and be part of this beautiful

Liturgy. The music will be provided by the Lyceum.

Following Mass, His Eminence will address us in the

PFC about the Vatican. If you have questions for him,

please submit them to me so that he might address them.

We would like to have some food during the talk.

Would you please bake and bring your items to the PFC

on Sunday afternoon? Thanks so very much.

May God’s blessings be yours this week.

Father Ireland

Let us pray for Luisa Gaudio of our parish community

who passed away this week. May she find eternal rest

with the Lord. And may God in His Mercy, grant comfort

and peace to Luisa family and friends who now mourn her

death.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,

and let perpetual light shime upon her.

May she rest in peace. Amen.

May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
