CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS COLLECTION ~

August 26-27 ~ Support the Catholic Home Missions Appeal today! Right now, over 40 percent of dioceses

in the United States are considered home missions because they are unable to fund essential pastoral work needed in their communities. Your support funds programs—such as religious education, seminary formation, and lay ministry training—to build vibrant faith communities right here in the United States. Please be generous. More information can be found at www.usccb.org/home-missions.

TO ALL ST. VINCENT FAMILIES ~ Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW) will resume Sunday, Sept. 10. For those unfamiliar with the program, CLW occurs during Mass prior to the first reading. Children will be called to the alter and blessed before being led to the Chapel or the Parish Hall to hear the gospel reading at an age appropriate level. CLW is offered at the 8:30 & 11:00 A.M. Masses. There is no registration necessary. Children are free to participate when ever you are at Mass. Children less than 5 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or responsible older sibling. At the 11:00 Mass the children split into two groups: the younger children’s group, or Small Children group, consists of those who are in 1st grade or younger - this group worships in the upper level of the Parish Hall; the School Age Group is for children in 2nd grade and older - they gather to worship in the chapel. Please make sure you let your child know which group they will be in before they are called to gather for the blessing at the altar. If you have any questions please email Meg McCarthy, Liturgical Ministries Coordinator, at [email protected] SENIOR OUTING ~ Mark your calendar for a fall foliage trip on Wednesday, September 20, to the Glen Falls Hyde Museum with lunch at the Rock Hill Bakery. No museum entrance fee for seniors on Wednesdays. Come and join us for a fun fall trip. We always welcome new members! BEREAVEMENT GROUP ~ The next gathering will be on September 27 at 7PM. For questions or concerns, please email Marge Addeo at [email protected].

A NOTE OF THANKS FROM FR. O’BRIEN

I want to thank our parish and those who so quickly organized a schedule to bring me to church and back home every Saturday for our 5 o’clock liturgy. To the volunteers: your kindness was so meaningful and I am so grateful.

God bless.
