Newcomers to Japan, we thought it was a wedding. In the in terval I have had 27 weddings with this being my first engagement ceremony. The wedding is set for June. In our Christmas 'letter' we asked prayer about the possibilities of using video recordings in evangelism and tea ching. Yuichi 'Nick' Nakagawa is pre sently finishing his studies at Cincin nati Technical Institute for this kind of work and is interested in doing that kind of service. He'll return this June. Continue to pray for God's leading in this area. You will remember that our Kanto Evangelizing Ass'n is a joint outreac in the Greater Tokyo area through literature distribution etc. So far this year we have spent six days helping the Bill Turners in their new beginning at Kotesashi and four days with the Mark Pratts at Machida. We are getting a better postcard response than the old Japanese salesmanship adage "Sen ni mitsu" (3 out of 1000 contacts). Most of these, however have been from junior high and high school students. Apartment dwellers are getting an ad quate chance to "know the truth without giving much response. Volunteer workers are pillars in our structure of Direct Support Mis sions. Mary Lou and Harry Bauer have been serving without pay as Forward ing Agents for the past seven years. As we salute them we are reminded tha they spend countless hours at office work, provide that space, their car, their telephone and their personal attention providing liaison between the missionaries and their living-link churches. Standing with them are Harol and Neomia Akers and Roger and Betty Burnham. The Akers, in addition to forwarding bundles of the 'Epistle' to our churches,have traveled thousands of miles telling you all about our work and raising funds for us. The Burn hams maintain our address list and address those sent to you as individuals I'm sure I speak for you, too, when I say, "Banzai for all these worthy, sacrificing servants] No nation is talked about these days more than is Japan.
