    A HAPPY GROUP

    Spring

has arrived and as anticipated we've enjoyed

    the beauty

    of

    cherry

    and

    plum blossoms

    and

    camellia.

    During the month

    of

May we see the colorful azaleas

    which

    resemble

    the

    rhododendrons.

    Delicious straw

    berries as

    large

    as plums

    all laid

    neatly

    in rows

Besides the miracles of nature we are

    also

    witness

    ing

    miracles

    of the Holy

    Spirit

    performed

    through

    the

    power of the Word

    in

the lives of God's children. Our

    doorbell

    rang at 7:30

    one

    Sunday morning

    recently.

    I

    thought, 'These

    diligent Bible

    School children

    are

coming earlier all the time owever, it was

    Katsumi

    Omura,

the young man baptized in February.

    Several

    weeks before

    he

    became a Christian plans

    had

    been

    made for him to

    go

    out of

    town.

    He came to pray

    and

    partake

    of the

    Lord's Supper before

    he

    left.

    A

    recent

    overnight guest

    was Keiko Ishikawa,

    who

    became

    a

    Christian

    in

    February, too. After graduation

    from

    Keisen Jr.

    College

    she became a

    secretary

    in the

    office of

    a

    member

    of

    the

    Upper

    House

    of

    the

    Diet.

    She h u l i g e r s for Christian fellowship.

    It

    seems—to-her

    that all those

    around her at

    work

    think

    only of

    money.

     'Today, if

    you are not

    a s

    close to God

    as

    you once

    were,

    who

    moved?

    God

    didn't

    his

    question

    was

    asked

    by

    David Smith when he

    preached here. David and

    Sylvia

    are spending

    a

    missionary

    internship in Japan with us

    for

    about

    six

    months.

    One

    hundred five adults

    and children

    attended

    the

    Missionary Convention, April

    5-7, at

    Amagi Sanso on

    Izu Peninsula, a two

    hour

    scenic drive

    from

    Isehara.

    The fellowship

    was like

    an

    oasis

    to

    thirsty, weary

    travelers.

    This

    Last

    to

servicemen from Vietnam causes us to pray for peace

    in

    that

    for these

    men who

    have

    already

    sacrificed so much of life.

    We

    what about

    those

    who don't love'Him?

    One

    of

    the most important

    men in

    Japan,

    to

    us,

is our mailman. Every day we listen

    for

    the

    sound of

    the squeaky

brakes on his bicycle. Sometimes we are

    disappointed, but

    often

    we receive just

    the letter

we need to inspire us for

    your

unceasing prayers and continued support are invigorating

    to

    us.

    A

    recent letter from

    Lydia

    was reassuring.

    She wrote, It's thrilling

    to

    hear

    of your

    endeavors for Christ

    in

    the

    land I love. Even

    though

    I miss you very much,

    DATE

    JULY

    9,

    We

    met and learned

    to love

    Lynn when she came

    with

    the Ohio Singers.

    Paul

    David questions,

    Why

    do

    we

    divide

    the

    body

    of

    Christ?' quoting 1 Cor.

    1:10-16) The center of

    our

lives is not any form of manmade sect of Christiany,

    but

    the center

    of

    our

    lives

    is

    JESUS CHRIST the

    HEAD.

    As

    Christians,

    uided by

the Holy Spirit, and inspired by the person of

    Jesus

    Christ, ^.ill we not concern

ourselves with proclaiming the WORD, JESUS

    CHRIST,

    instead o interdenominational

    bickering.

Did you read Sam Stone's article, Ohayo Shingazu'

    n

    the January 24th. , 1971

    issue of

    the

    Christian

    Standard? Your

    prayers and gifts

    made

    this

    tremendous

    evang

    elistic

    effort

    possible.

    Bill

Miller from Patterson, APE, Dayton, Ohio recomends

    that we send

    more

    groups like

    this

    one to the

    mission fields.

      ersonally, we

    would

like to see more groups come to Japan if

    they

    come with the

    same

    purpose and

    zeal as the Ohayo Shingazu.

    DON'T

FORGET ASIA Now more than ever, the Orient needs Christ.

    Kenneth

    A. Stewart, CHRISTIAN STAN DARD, February

    14,

    1971, page 11) I'm

    sure

    you

    remember

    the parable

    of

the one lost sheep (Matt. 18:12-14). If

    one

    sheep were one of your

    loved ones,

    how

    much

    time, effort

    and money should be

    spent to

    find

    that one

    who

is lost? It is not the will of the FATHER that one

    of

    these should

    perish.

I've been saving money from teaching English so that

    Paul

    and

    I

    can return State
