+ Fire Detection in Video Sequences using Statistical Colour Model, EE Summer Camp(4 weeks, May08)

Developed a real-time fire-detector which combined foreground information with statistical colour information todetect colours

Formulated a method to differentiate between Red coloured object and Fire in the video

+ Head Tracker System using an Infrared LED sensor array, Course Project(Jan-Apr08), Control System

Analysis

The system synchronized the direction of a camera with the subjects head in the horizontal direction

Created a discrete control system, with step control feedback using a microcontroller and DC motor

Created the step control feedback, by using an encoder, to check for errors in the system. This ensured that

slowly the motor iterated to the exact point it was supposed to be, with minimum under/over shoot

+ Load Shedding Optimization in Distributed Power System, Course Project(Aug-Nov08), Power Systems

We implemented a strategy using Simplex Method for optimum power distribution while keeping in mind

minimum cost Analysed the reasons for power cut and importance of load shedding while keeping in mind the social issues

Developed a software which could calculate, from which load how much load is to be shed, while providing forcritical load
