ABOUT ARTIST
Dr. Pramila Singh is a painter living and works in Chitrakute, India. She was born in 1954. She has received her Diploma in Sitar, Diploma in Photography & Prabhakar in Kathak before completing her BFA - Applied Arts in 1980. Her MFA was completed from B.H.U, Varanasi in 1982.
Dr. Singh started her career with a publication house, Allahabad while enrolling herself in doctorate degree (PHD). She was also a recipient of the Folk & Contemporary Art Exhibition Award. She is now a founding member and the Director of Elegance Art Gallery, Agra. Her work is represented in form of Mural, Sculptures, Portraits, and wall paintings by Lalit Kala Academy, Allahabad, Gandhigram, TamilNadu, M.G.C.G.V. Chitrakoot, B.H.U Varanasi and many more. She is currently on the faculty of the Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidhyalaya, Chitrakoot where she has successfully accomplished more than 15 years tenure as “Head of Department”.
Her recent group painting exhibitions include B.H.U., Varanasi, Nandan Gallery, Shanti Niketan, West Bengal, Gandhigram, TamilNadu, Amrita Kala Vithika, Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur & M.G.C.G, Chitrakoot. Recent solo exhibitions were held at Jaipur, Bikaner, Tamil Nadu. Her book on Art of Shalaendra Nath De was recently published.
