Investigation of the role that affordable housing can play in the integration and improvement of historical mining towns. Master planning and urban design of significantly more compact, catalytic developments that incorporates a mix of uses within a walkable framework that balances public, semi-public and private spaces. The five mining towns of varying size that were considered are: Klerksdorp, Kathu, Kuruman, Olifantshoek and Postmasburg.

Master planning, urban design & architecture of the airport’s new land side vehicular and pedestrian network with associated public open space design and transport plaza. The master plan formed part of the 2010 World Cup upgrades within the greater Cape Town Metropolitan Area.
