This can be dangerous especially if they are left alone in places where electrical fittings and appliances are within their reach. It takes only one unguarded moment for a child to be involved in an electrical accident.

Electrical incidents can be fatal. You should not allow your child to be a victim. Here are some important safety reminders you should always remember to prevent such things from happening.

1. Give your children enough space to play away from electrical outlets and appliances. This can be done by arranging furniture in a child-friendly manner. Appliances that are placed atop stands should be positioned in a way that makes them stable. Make sure that they won’t fall in the event a child bumps into or climbs up them to reach something.

2. Install shuttered sockets and recessed outlets in places that are accessible to children.
