Landscaping
• All Holmen Skog’s districts draw up an
ecological landscape plan for their geographic
area.
• The ecological landscape plan comprises:
– Description of the area’s forest history, climate,
aquatic environments, the forest’s age and the
species of wood in the area.
– Inventory of existing natural, cultural and social
assets.
– Assessment of what habitats are wholly or
partially lacking in the current forest landscape.
• Based on the results, long-term targets are
drawn up for preserving or improving the natural
assets by re-establishing missing habitats.

Regeneration
– get right from the start
• Soil preparation
• Right tree species in the right place
• Planting and sowing
• Pine weevils and other pests
• Opportunity to improve the forest’s natural,
cultural and social assets
