    His parents are Ivan Pavlovich Mendeleevand Maria DmitrievnaMendeleeva (Kornilieva).

    Youngest among his siblings

    In 1855 he had a tuberculosis and his health fully restored in 1857

    he became a science master of the Simferopol gymnasium

    Between 1859 and 1861, he worked on the capillarity of liquids

    and the workings of the spectroscope in Heidelberg.

    he wrote his first book on the spectroscope in late August 1861

    he married Feozva Nikitichna Leshcheva, due to the heavy

    influence of his sister Olga,on 27 April 1862 at Nikolaev Engineering

    College's church in Saint Petersburg.

    while Mendeleev never really loved Feozva, they had two children

    namedVolodya and Olga.

    Mendeleev became a professor at the Saint Petersburg

    Technological Institute and Saint Petersburg State Universe in 1864

    and 1865, respectively.

    In 1865 he became Doctor of Science for his dissertation "On the

    Combinations of Water with Alcohol

    in 1868, the first edition of of Principles of Chemistrywas

    printed.

    He began courtingAnna Ivanova Popova, his nieces best friend,in

    1876 and he even threatened her suicide if she refuses his proposal in

    1881, but the two loved each other very much and they were married

    in 1882.

    Anna and Mendeleev had four children named Liubov, Ivan, and

    twinsVassili and Maria after he married Popova, a month later, his

    separation from Leshcheva was finalized

    the life of Mendellev with Anna was more successful than his firstmarriage.

    in 1905,Mendeleev was elected a member of the Royal

    Swedish Academy of Sciences, one of the Royal Academics of

    Sweden which is an independent, non-governmental scientific

    organization which acts to promote the sciences, primarily the

    natural sciences and mathematics.

    he is a bigamist, a person who entered marriage while still

    legally married to another, because the Russian Orthodox

    Church required at least seven years before lawful re-marriage.

    This became one of the reasons, despite him being famous, tohis failure to be admitted to the Russsian Academy of Sciences.

    on August 17, 1890 ,he resigned from Saint Petersburg

    University.
