Door lock was compromised.

R/P reports at approx. 6:15am he observed a B/M suspect run from the Construction Trailer to a Blue Dodge Ram P.U. on the sidewalk just north of the trailers location. Upon closer inspection R/P discovered the lock on the door to trailer had been compromised. Nothing was removed from the trailer.

21000 W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial- Salvage Yard)

Landscaping brick was used to break out a 3’x 3’ section of glass located on the lower section of entry door.

Surveillance video shows a W/M wearing a fisherman style hat covering his face with his shirt or jacket. Suspect enters building at 12:40am and takes several used car radios; check books and a laptop. Suspect left the business at 12:48am.

28000 Northwestern (Hotel)

Door was forced open. Note: Lock on door was faulty and the door was easy to open.

Victim advised that she had just walked into the hotel room set her purse down on her bed, and then walked out of the room and closed the door and went down to her car to get her phone charger. When she returned, the room door was open and her purse was missing. Victim showed Officers that with the door closed you can just hit the door with your hip and the door will open. R/p advised her ID, one credit card and an undisclosed amount of money was in the purse.

Officers were dispatched to the 27000 Block of Spring Arbor Dr. for a report of a suspect attempting to take a motorcycle from the front of victim’s residence. The victim stated he heard a disturbance in his front yard. When he went to investigate he saw an unknown male near his motorcycle which was parked on the front yard sidewalk near the front door. The suspect ran off when he saw victim. Suspect was last seen running northbound on Spring Arbor. Suspect Description: Unknown male: 5'-9", medium build, black hoodie, brown pants and brown boots. Further investigation revealed that the suspect went through victims two vehicles that were parked in the driveway and also lifted the garage door approx. 4’ and entered the attached garage. Victim states that at this time it doesn’t appear that anything was taken from the garage or either vehicle. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens who observe suspicious activity during the late night or early morning hours should remain in concealment. 28000 Selkirk St. Entry through unlocked bathroom window.

Investigation revealed that it appears that at least (2) suspects entered through a rear unlocked ground level upper bathroom shower window. There were footwear impressions from at least two different sets of shoes/boots on the floor of the bathtub. The suspects ransacked the three bedrooms and one electronic item is missing. The suspects then fled the residence through the rear door wall.

Victim states sometime between 8:35am and 5:05pm someone gained entry most likely through unlocked rear door. The residence was ransacked. Taken at this time are a TV, Laptop, Tablet, Gift Card & a Watch.

Victim states she parked and locked her vehicle at approx. 12:15am. Victim returned to where the vehicle was parked at approx. 7:00am when she observed that the vehicle was stolen. On 05/26/2017 the vehicle was recovered by MSP at 8:00am in the City of Detroit. The vehicle was missing all four wheels and tires, the rear driver side window was broken out, and there was damage to the rear bumper.

Motorcycle was located by employees when they came into work in the west parking lot up against a guard rail. The motorcycle was found to have a missing ignition and speedometer, as well as no license plate. The motorcycle was stolen out of Detroit. Recovery was completed.

Officers were on routine patrol ran a lein check on vehicle and it came back stolen out of Detroit. Officers stopped the vehicle without incident. The driver was identified as the renter of the vehicle and it was determined that the vehicle should have been returned in March of 2017. Further investigation the passenger in the vehicle had an F/A Warrant out of Southfield. The warrant was confirmed and the passenger was taken into custody. The driver was RPI’d at this time reference the Fail to Return Rented Vehicle. The vehicle was recovered.

Victim states he parked his 2005 Black Dodge Dakota in front of the residence at 3:00pm. He went into the back yard of residence and started to cut the grass. When he returned to the front yard at 3:15pm he discovered that several of his landscaping tools had been taken from the bed of his pickup truck. The vehicle was not locked. He did not see anyone take the items.

Victim states he arrived to work around 7:50am and left his building around 4:40pm. At 4:40pm he discovered his White 2016 Chrysler 300 front passenger window smashed out and his Stereo/ Navigation System were taken.

Security Person for the property discovered window broken out and the Stereo/ Navigation System was taken from the vehicle. Surveillance Video shows an unknown subject (no description) approach the vehicle at 1:25pm. No further information at this time.

Victim states sometime between 5:10pm and the following morning at 9:00am someone took All Four Wheels & Tires from victims 2015 Dodge Charger. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of residence.

19000 Melrose Ave. -Two of victim’s vehicles were rummaged through. A handgun was taken from one of the vehicles. Officers responded to a report of an LFA in progress in the 19000 Block of Melrose. R/P observed two suspects breaking into his vehicles. The two suspects left on foot and were scared off by the R/P. A weapon was taken out of the R/P’s vehicle and one of the suspects fired one round while leaving the area. Victim states he was awakened by his dog who was barking. Victim looked outside and observed the dome light on inside his wife’s car. His wife stated she didn’t leave it on. Victim got his gun and went outside to investigate. He observed that his 2010 Ford Escape and his 2008 Jeep Commander were both rummaged through. A handgun was taken from his Jeep Commander. Victim explained while he was looking through his Jeep he heard a disturbance in his backyard. Victim exited his vehicle and saw two males running n/w through the woods.

Suspect #1: Unknown male, wearing all black, reflective coating on jacket, approximately 5’-9”- 5’-10”, armed with suspected stolen handgun. Suspect #2: Unknown male, wearing all black, approximately 5’-9”- 5’-10”. Victim stated Suspect #1 turned around, while running away from the residence, and fired one shot towards him. Victim said he saw the flash of the gun, but did not know if the suspect was firing in the air or at him. Additional Officers while searching the area for suspects located a Blue 1992 Toyota Celica and a White 1999 Saturn Ion was rummaged through in the area of the 19000 Block of Dorset. Officers made contact with the owner of those vehicles and he stated both vehicles were unlocked and a Kenwood Radio was taken from the Toyota Celica. Nothing was taken from the Saturn Ion. The radio was recovered and returned to the owner. The owner didn’t wish to make a report so the incidents were included with this incident.

18000 Cornell Rd. Victim states cash, hand sanitizer, body spray, miscellaneous clothing, and a pair of black and white tennis shoes were taken from his vehicle.

Victim states his Black Kia Optima was broken into at 3:04am by 3 B/M's. Victim states the entire incident was captured on the video surveillance at his residence. He could see the 3 B/M's on the recording going to other vehicles on his street and checking if they were unlocked. Victim states his vehicle was unlocked. No further description.

20000 Avon Ln. Suitcase with contents and a Laptop w/ accessories were taken from 2017 Chevy Corvette.

Victim states several items were stolen out of his rental vehicle on Sunday May 28, 2017 sometime between 1:30am & 8:10am. It is unknown how entry was gained. No damage or signs of forced entry.

Catalytic Converter was taken from 2000 Alero Oldsmobile.

Victim states he parked and locked his vehicle on the south side of the parking lot of school around 9:15am. When he returned at 12:15pm he discovered that someone had taken his catalytic converter.

Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight.

Special Attention: Larceny from Vehicles How to prevent this from happening to you! -Citizens should never leave anything of value inside their vehicle. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don’t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. -After parking your vehicle turn your wheels all the way to the right or the left. This will make it difficult to get the lug nuts off the front wheels. - If you don’t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible. -If you here any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach or Scare the Suspects Away) give Police Dispatchers

Trespassing/ Possession of Marijuana 1- Arrest 05/24/2017 9:27pm 20000 Block of Knob Woods Dr.

(Apartment Complex) Officers were dispatched to Apartments to investigate trespassing complaint. While in route dispatch informed Officers that the male in question is most likely a subject that has been a problem in prior runs to same location and was arrested for trespassing on 05/02/2017. The subject has also been advised on trespassing previously. Officers arrived and located subject hiding in the basement. There was also a strong odor of marijuana coming from the area that the subject was located. Officers recovered a blunt that the suspect discarded and also located a small plastic baggie of suspected marijuana on his person. The subject was arrested for Trespassing and Possession of Marijuana. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested the suspected marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana.

Possession of Marijuana- 1- Arrest 05/25/2017 11:37am 24000 Block of Lahser Rd.

(Southfield Public School) Investigation revealed that a student was removed from class because he reeked of marijuana. The student was taken to the O House Office and searched by Security. They recovered suspected marijuana in one of the student shoes. SPD School Liaison Officer was summoned for further investigation. A scale and two empty plastic baggies were also recovered from suspect. The student (juvenile) was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Causing a School Disruption. He was later tot his parents. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested the suspected marijuana. Result was positive for possible presence of marijuana.

DWLS/ Possession of Marijuana/ Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia- 1- Arrest 05/28/2017 9:26pm S/B Southfield Fwy. & W Eight Mile Rd. Officers were on routine patrol when they observed a Silver Audi with no license plate attached cut through gas station to avoid a traffic control device. The vehicle continued onto S/B Southfield Freeway at high rate of speed. The vehicle was eventually stopped on 7 Mile Rd. west of Southfield Rd. Officer’s investigation revealed that the driver had a Suspended Driver’s License and he was taken into custody for DWLS. Officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers located suspected marijuana in the front driver’s side door in a plastic container and a glass pipe in the center console of the vehicle.

F/A- 1- Arrest 05/27/2017 4:27pm W Nine Mile Rd. & Lahser Rd. At approx. 4:27pm Officers were dispatched to the area of Nine Mile Rd and Lahser Rd, regarding a shooting which just occurred between two vehicles. Dispatch advised the shooter, left the scene in a Grey Astro Van and the victim provided the license plate on suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle registered to an address in Lathrup Village. Officers from both departments went to the residence that the vehicle registers to and the vehicle wasn’t there. Officers continued to watch the residence until Southfield Officer radioed that the suspect vehicle was north on Sunset south of Wiltshire. Officers stopped the vehicle w/o incident. After stopping the vehicle Officers could smell what appeared to be gun powder emanating from inside the vehicle. The driver stated he had discharged his firearm inside his vehicle accidently, he had a CPL and the firearm was in the glove box. The driver later stated he fired his gun to scare the people in the other car. Officer’s investigation and evidence gathered by Officers suggested that the suspect fired a round into the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody for F/A & Discharge Firearm from a Motor Vehicle.

OWI- 1- Arrest 05/27/2017 3:37am W/B 8 Mile Rd. / Evergreen Rd. Officer responded on a report of a single motor vehicle accident in the 20000 Block of W. 8 Mile. Officer arrived on scene and suspected alcohol was involved and he conducted an OWI Investigation. As a result of the investigation the driver was arrested for OWI. The driver’s alcohol level was above the legal limit.

OWI- 1- Arrest 05/26/2017 10:49pm W/B 8 Mile Rd. / and Stahelin Officers responded on a report of a hit and run crash which occurred at Southfield and Mt. Vernon. The victim followed the suspect until Officers arrived and stopped the vehicle at 8 Mile and Stahelin. The suspect was arrested without incident by Officer after an OWI investigation. The driver’s alcohol level was above the legal limit. The driver’s alcohol level was above the legal limit.
