Now in its sixth year, Pacific Partnership 2011 is aimed at strengthening regional relationships with Southeast Asian and Oceania nations that might be called upon to respond to natural or humanitarian disasters in the region. Pacific Partnership is designed to enhance these relationships through medical, dental and engineering projects, as well as subject matter expert exchanges (SMEEs). All Tonga media outlets are invited to send representatives to the following events: April 14 th at 10 a.m. – Pacific Partnership 2011 opening ceremony at Vava'u High School April 14 th at 2 p.m. – Pacific Partnership 2011 press conference at the Marina Pier (near Coco-net Cafe) in Neiafu. This event will be immediately followed by a tour for the media aboard USS Cleveland. April 15 th at 10 a.m. – Fia Fia Day celebration at the Utukalongalu Market. April 16 th at 10 a.m. -- Pacific Partnership 2011 Band Concert at the Fisheries Pier in Neiafu. April 18 th at 1 p.m. -- Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Taoa Government Primary School. April 18 th at 3 p.m. -- Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Utui Community Center.

April 20th at 3 p.m. -- The Talihau Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Talihau TownHall.

April 21st at 10 a.m. -- Pacific Partnership 2011 closing press conference atthe Marina Pier (near Coco-net Cafe) in Neiafu.

April 21st at 11:30 a.m. – Pacific Partnership 2011 Closing Ceremony atFangatongo Government Primary School.

Media are also invited to visit the sites for Pacific Partnership 2011humanitarian, civil assistance and engineering projects. Pacific Partnershiprepresentatives and their Vava'u partners will be available for interviews.Those interested, please meet Lt. Zachary Harrell at the Vava'u Governor'soffice at the following dates and times for the respective projects.

April 15th at 1400 to visit the medical site and Prince Wellington NguHospital.

April16th at 1300 to visit the engineering project site at Makave GovernmentPrimary School.

April 18th at 0800 to visit the medical and veterinarian site in south Vava'u.

April 19th at 0800 to visit the medical and dental site at Tuanekivale.

April 20th at 0800 to visit the water catchment engineering site (location tobe determined).
